It's fine to keep off the gauze because your incision needs air to heal. It's important now to keep it clean well and when the incision line looks dried up, you can use bio oil or coconut oil to soften the skin around there.
hi, I had mine done 11 days ago and I’m still exactly the same, I’m struggling to put any kind of clothes on my bottom half. From what I’ve seen you just have to get used to it for a few weeks until it goes back to normal
Sadly it takes a bit longer than 11 days before that feeling becomes less. I believe at this point you still may still feel discomfort from the incision, but also the sensitivity from the exposed glans (which you feel when it rubs against some clothing). Either wear something loose or you could try underwear made from microfiber fabrics
It's hard to attach an exact time frame to that as there are differen factors: method of circumcision, age, whether it was stitched or not. roughly said, 2-3 months should usually be near to 'normal' again for an adult circumcision
Hey bro i got my circumcision done. I’m in my day Day 6 of recovery . I had a very severe phimosis which i never seen my glance in my whole life as the foreskin is never retracted back. In terms of pain it’s very mild. But i am very very hypersensitive in the glance whenever i feel a touch down there . Even a small touch is making me scream cuz that much low sensitivity. It’s really really unbearable and making me anxious. Can you please tell me how long will this last or take to come back to normal ?
Hi, mine condition was same as yours phimosis and never able to see glans. Sensitivity will gradually subsidised after two weeks try to wear loose clothes.
Also bro can you tell me how long i should keep the bandage ? I have been changing everyday since the surgery done. Started to take bath also. After taking bath I’m changing with applying fusidic antibiotic cream. But the wound doesn’t have any complications. No pain or anything so far. It’s the 5th day tho. So what do you think should i keep the bandage or just apply the cream and let it be out.
My bandage fell off about 6 hours after the op and just left it off. Letting the air hit it and fabric a couple of days touching it will help dry it out and get used to the new feeling. Make sure to keep it clean though
I put gauze on but not covered the head totally, I made a sort of tube out of the gauze and also put Vaseline on, it stopped it rubbing on clothes etc. once the stitches are out and everything looks ok you won’t need gauze.
Different surgeons/Different requests/Different situations but….
I was told to remove my gauze after 24 hours. I was allowed to shower without directly scrubbing the area using dial anti bacterial soap. Ointments applied as needed but only a thin layer.
My glans is still sensitive but not nearly as bad as the first 14 days. Erections hurt, glancing blows (lol) hurt, my jeans hurt. I found massive comfort in SAXX underwear. SAXX kept my penis stationary and I was able to move around. I used ice bags for the first 5 days to keep the swelling down. I kept using anti bacterial ointment for 14-20 days.
I’m 25 days post op and I was given clearance to return to “duty” yesterday… gently and with lube. FYI my scar line is fully healed but raised. My doctor was absolutely surprised…
I’m going to use some silicone gel and bio oil to help the scar dissipate.
Trust the process, take a breath and understand everyone heals at different rates. Keep it clean and take antibiotics/anti-inflammatories/antibacterial as requested by YOUR doctor… don’t be taking serious medical advice from “us” people on the internet lol.
As you will have noticed, we all heal at different rates. I initially used bio oil for scar tissue then moved on to coconut oil. Tight pants helped keep things still so reduced pain. Gentle washing with salt water, then baby soap followed by a good rinse with plain water. Slowly introduce touch, gently first, this will help you become accustomed to the change. It takes time but you will get better.
