I finally was able to see my retina specialist to ask him questions about my reoccurring CSR. He was able to look at all of my previous scans. When I was able to see him my bleed had gone down it had been close to about 3 1/2 weeks almost a month. It has since then almost completely flattened. That’s the quickest I’ve had a bleed resolve. I find a little hope in this because this is also the first time that I have been very regimented on taking my vitamins and working on distressing my life considerably. I had gone The longest I ever have since the beginning of my CSR before I had this current bleed. I told him the vitamin supplements that I was taking which he agreed couldn’t hurt as all of the ingredients have been peer reviewed and are backed with data. One of the bigger changes that I have been doing is meditation. I ended up getting one of those damn Fitbits to follow my heart rate as it rises and lowers.. I wrote down things that seem to bring my heart rate higher and I began to focus on those. I wrote it down every time it happened. So I could try to figure out what may have been causing that… we internalize anxiety in ways that you wouldn’t think that can affect stress levels and cortisol. The meditation has been very hard… at certain points it felt impossible. My brain has 50 tabs open maybe more every day. But as with anything overtime the consistency started to work I can meditate consciously and relax my mind for almost 4-5 minutes. I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s been affective!! i’ve also developed tools to things that would normally cause spikes and stress levels.

One of the big ones as many of you can relate to is being a parent … I’m a father of four kids and it’s a work out sometimes. I work in the education field and though I love it with all my heart it’s been trying at times. Also you can’t ignore as much as maybe we would all like to with what’s happening Around the world... Through practicing meditation I have learned and developed tools to help stunt some of those spikes which has proven to be extraordinarily useful in mitigating consistent levels of stress…

Outside of CSR the meditation has been a boon for my personal life and for work! Improving productivity as well as creating longer moments of peace and calm within the family!

I talked about the micro pulse layers or he said that there is information about them but there’s mixed reviews on them he showed me some data of the positives and negatives one being that it doesn’t cause scarring another being that it doesn’t necessarily stop the leaks in some patients.

He said that I’m a good candidate for PDT and as long as it’s not near my macula they have had great results in it stopping leaks there is potential for it coming back but some of their patients have gone years. I’m going to wait another two weeks and start trying horse chestnut. I’m going to Journal it and date it.

I talked to him about horse chestnut there’s not a lot of data out on it he didn’t give me much ..understandably so ..but I’m going to try it as there is data on it stopping fluid ..fluid buildup and strengthening epithel walls. .

As with anything before you add any new supplement or medication, Everybody is different.. SO always talk to a doctor or your primary doctor before you do anything.

My daily regimen before bedtime

2 mg of melatonin

For crushed stigmas of saffron

400 mg of magnesium

L-Theanine

And a nighttime vitamin for eyes EYETIMINS

I'll be interested to know how the horse chestnut trial works. I've have continual fluid for several years that increases and decreases but never goes away.

Hello

I am new to this group and would like to thank you for sharing your experiences and knowledge.

It was great news both your eye condition health and life are improving to a better state .

I wondered if you mind sharing where you found discovered the benefits of horse chestnut and the other supplements your taking like saffron ?

I have just brought supplements called macuShield which many opticians sell but was interested to know where you are found the benefits of the ingredients like saffron and horse chestnut from

I have anxiety symptoms and have just started meditation anything is worth trying .

My eyes are not healthiest hereditary problem . I had a Cataracts operations years ago which has amazing improvement.

Afew months ago I had laser for glaucoma and now I am waiting for an appointment for macular degeneration .

I am waiting for a hospital appointment though as my optimist thinks it’s not urgent only routine I don’t know how long the wait will be .

I agree with your approach . It’s so important to ensure you can maintain a healthy positive mind as it can have such an effect on our health .

Hi there I really like the idea of the fitbit and tracking your heart rate for stress so I think I'll give that a try. Cheers.

Good for you getting some positive results back from the doctor! I would be curious to know how the horse chestnuts work for you.

Does your fitbit show that your heart rate is slowing down during and after meditation?

Happy you're seeing some positive results, keep us in the loop as to your progress.

I hate to tell you this, but Fitbits are notorious for having inaccurate pulse rates. A good blood pressure monitor is a better choice. Since you seem quite aware of when you are stressed, your intuition is probably better than your Fitbit.

And it's ok to have thoughts flitting through your mind when you meditate: just observe their presence and observe them as they go. I think of them as clouds in the sky, always changing, sometimes more of them, sometimes less.

Yes they can be a pain but I’ve got a system down where I can get it pretty close. Close enough that I know it’s elevated and not a bad read! But yes they are not 100% but it’s quick it’s something to monitor and it can be helpful for sure.

I just have my laser after one year of not having a good result in lucentis injection and a aldactone medicine for about 8 months. Now 4 months after the laser, leak was gone. but still small fluid left hope it will subside completely.

It stinks man I hear you!! I really felt like I figured out something that was working for me I had gone a very long time with minimal leaks and my eye was almost close to what I felt like it was before. So much so that I stopped thinking about it… and then Wham!! I wake up one day and my wife looked like she got back from the friggin Bahamas in my affected eye. It cleared up very quick but there’s still some and I feel like it will get a little dimmer and then go away and then get a little dimmer and then go away I’ve never experienced that. .. usually I get that dark circle whether it’s smaller or bigger and then over the course of a couple months maybe two it will eventually recede. For whatever reason I do feel like stress inconsistent worry whether it’s light or heavy does trigger it at least for me. Best of luck to you if I ever discover something that works permanently I will share with everybody.
