Hello, does anyone know about stem cell therapy? My brother has chronic csr with epitelial dettachment (we dont know if this ever comes down, he is afraid it will progress to DMAE but his is only 38),,, he started stem cell treatment, which is stem cells inyected to his arm, aim is to improve his body's defense system and avoid more fluid from leaking,,, does anyone know about this? it is expensive and seems very experimental but we dont know what else to do.... there is a new leak in his good eye which was not there before and they want to seal it with argon laser, but we are affraid eventually there will be new leaks and if one leak gets to the center then well, what then? seems like a nightmare honestly, cant find a solution and cant find success examples of people with chronic csr when the disease just stopped one day and didnt get worse, this is our family's dream now,,, any info, ideas, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated, thank you everyone xo

Chronic CSR with epitalial dettachment stem cell treatment
"Oral eplerenone at a dose of 25–50 mg/day has been found to be effective and well-tolerated for the treatment of chronic CSCR."

Autoimmune approach:
"... retrospectively evaluated methotrexate as a treatment for chronic CSCR in 11 eyes. They found that the mean CMT and visual acuity improved significantly compared to baseline values, and 9 eyes (83%) remained dry after completion of the treatment regimen."

Interleukin-17 (IL-17) is thought to play a (significant) role in CNV/AMD, but I can't find too much of it or any other interleukin in relation to CSR.
