Just been prescribed Ramipril for high blood pressure. I hate starting yet another medication to add to a very long list. Does this med cause weight gain - really trying hard with my weight loss journey and Ive read online that blood pressure meds can cause weight gain.

Ramipril does not lead to/cause weight gain!
Weight gain is not listed as a side effect!
Have a read:
No side effects for me at all.
I've been on it for 9 years and have managed to actually lose weight. It can be oto toxic though. My hearing has deteriorated and I was told by GP that I now have eustachian tube dysfunction.
(Still struggling for Lupus diagnosis).
Hi, I've been on Ramipril for over a year and taken it while on steroids and hydroxychloriquine and haven't had any weight gain. In fact over the last 12 months I have lost 14 kg!
Fab 👏👏 well done you! That’s great reassurance. Im really peeved having to start BP meds I always thought I just had ‘white coat syndrome’ but my nurse wants me to start the meds, honestly its one thing after another.
I don’t know about this medication never used before
Understand that Ramipril is a class of drug known as an ACE INHIBITOR [ angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor] which dilates blood vessels and therefore reduces blood pressure.
