Any solutions to get rid of mouth ulcers on gums and tongue
Try a folic acid supplement - ask the pharmacist. But they have to heal so there is no real quick fix. Bonjela gel helps.

My hubby’s dentist told him to use zinc to heal his frequent ulcers on his gums tongue and inner cheeks.
He gets them from the slightest trauma and at times without knowing why.
He quits zinc as soon as the ulcers heal because zinc is used for hospital care and constant use will make it ineffective.
Best wishes for healing. Abundant blessings.

Not an instant quick fix but after seeing a specialist with my consistent mouth ulcers I was adviced to use sensodyne toothpaste as it didn't contain the foaming agent. It's made a huge difference for me. Hope this helps.
My dentist prescribed a mouthwashContaining tetracycline nystatin lidocaine
Benadryl and another ingredient I can’t think of at the moment lol. I have burning mouth syndrome so it was prescribed for that and blister etc go away. I’m in USA so not sure if you can get it. It is a swish and swallow or you can spit it out. Can’t live without it.
Titters, I’ve had burning mouth syndrome for over a year and have spent a lot of money trying to find a solution. Even a £170 toothbrush from japan that claimed to clean with just water…it’s c*ap, i resorted to using wipes and teeth are in awful shape, just starting to tolerate orilieve but please can you tell me the name of your mouthwash? I’m so glad to have found someone who understands it. It’s been hell this last year. Tx
Hi MercyT. You are right. It’s hell. I’ve had it for about 10 years. Since it is a symptom of anxiety my GP/ oh also hormonal change and a few other things, No one took me seriously enough. Eventually I mentioned it to my dentist
And this was before my diagnosis. So in the US we call it magic mouthwash. It has
Many different formulas that are compounded by a compounding pharmacy. It is not over the counter. The one I use is called Stanford #5. So the compounding pharmacist knows the proportions to put in. I don’t swish and spit. I swallow. Tastes like cherry medicine I used to give my kids. If you
Read above I remembered the last ingredient is prednisone. It may be used 4 x a day. This burning tongue syndrome
Is so painful and I really hope you can find
Your Dr. to prescribe it. Let me know.
Mine came on suddenly eating Mexican
Food with a friend. I could have drowned
Myself in ice cubes. Sucking ice helps a lot. And as you know by now, this is a hallmark of autoimmune disease as well
Best of luck. Titters
Hi
My consultant perscribed me with a dissolvable steriod for 7 days. I used it as a mouthwash it was great.
Thank you I’ll ring my dr tomorrow
Yes that is the next ingredient. A small amount of steroid.
1 are you sure you are not iron deficient? 2 yes sensodyne good as only toothpaste with no sodium luareth sulfate, as I understand. Good luck
Antibacterial mouthwash only thing that works for me
Avoid sodium lauryl sulfate it is often in both toothpastes and mouthwashes. Since l have done that mine have cleared up. I don't know why companies put it in products as it is known to cause ulcers in some people.
I'm celebrating as this week found Sensodyne Pronamel - Daily Protection - on a supermarket shelf. It contains no sodium lauryl sulphate👍👍👍👍👍
.it is more expensive 😐 so I'm just using half a blob a time..
Results..it is easy rinsing my mouth of toothpaste after..still early days ..but mouth seems a bit more comfortable.
Diflam spray is the best thing I’ve used. You can also get it over the counter, better than a mouthwash as it just targets the ulcer. I did get prescribed the little steroid tablet years ago that you put straight onto the ulcer, they were great but I’m told you can’t can’t get them anymore. It was my dental hospital that prescribed them. They are so sore, mine used to last months at a time, hence I got referred to dental hospital.
HiI suffered with increased mouth ulcers since starting RA. My GP tried to be helpful even referred me to the maxillary dept at my local hospital. They tried difflam, steroid gel, salt gargles, pain killers etc. The things that worked for me where, bonjela, cleaning my teeth three times a day, avoiding rough texture foods, and using an anti bacterial mouthwash (corsydil etc).
At the first sign of any infection, abrasion etc, I use increased amounts of anti bacterial mouthwash and teeth cleaning. The comments about toothpaste are correct, some contain additives which cause reactions in many people. The only down side of anti bacterial mouthwash is that they can stain teeth.
Hope this helps

How very painful Furbie. 😫 I feel for you. When I was a child I had a VERY bad attack of tonsillitis which ended up with me having ulcers all over my mouth and gums. My doctor prescribed medication but also said to use a mouth wash of salt dissolved in warm water 2 or 3 times per day. It worked a treat. To this day at the first sign of ulcers I rinse out my mouth with a glass of warm salted water (about a teaspoon to a glass). It isn’t the most pleasant and stings to begin with but it is a cheap and very effective remedy. Hoping it helps you too. 🙏🏻 Take care. 🤗😘xx
Like Spotty, I use salt and also dab it neat onto the ulcers. It stings like mad but really helps them heal quickly.
Can be a sign of a B12 deficiency, so worth getting it tested (although testing is by no means certain to find a cellular deficiency. ) Both my Dad and I get mouths full of ulcers when B12 drops, which can be due to stress, other illness etc even when tested and supplementing. If possible, don't supplement before testing as it skews the results. Cheers
Hi - I use Difflam mouth wash recommended by the dental clinic and it works well for me. I had ulcers regularly. I was using bonjela and was told to stop and prescribed Difflam. I have far fewer mouth ulcers now and the ones I do get clear up very quickly.
I sympathise with you, I suffered so badly for a long time and I was prescribed Aciclovir tablets and took them for a few months before being taken off them as the problem cleared thankfully, I hope they never return and also hope your able to get yours cleared as well as they are so painful, good luck x
