Yes i had both on Tues (covid in the left flu in the right) with no issues not even the customary sore arm. Kind regards SML x

I had both yesterday. One in each arm. I usually have them separately but this time thought I would try at the same time. I have had my usual side effects of shivers, aches, stiff sore arms etc but no worse than usual. Now I am an old fogey I get them because I am over 65.

I had both yesterday and this is the worse I've been. Today I've been nauseous, painful joints, headaches, painful stomach and ongoing temperature. I'm so tired and lethargic 🌹

Hope you get well soon 💕

Many thanks, the only time I've reacted like this was when I had my pneumococcal and shingles vaccines together, never with COVID and flu 🌹

I had both vaccines last week - minimally sore flu side arm for a day and that was all. Hope you’re ok whatever you decide. You can always have a covid vaccine at a later date, after some more thought.

yes just had mine , had Covid for the first time in July and was truly awful .. what would it be like without these boosters etc .

I had mine done on Tuesday, will wait until next week for flu.

Felt fine, got the normal shivers, headache and achy arm.

Yes had both last Saturday in same arm. The usual sore arm for 3 or 4 days, no other side effects. I am on prednisolone and Hydroxychloroquine. Definitely worth protecting yourself.

Hi 👋🏻 I had both a week ago. I had Covid back in 2021 having shielded for so long, I returned to school for one day and caught COVID and ended up very poorly in hospital. I had had two vaccinations at that point and they definitely saved my life. Since then I’ve had every booster offered and this year caught covid again. It was no worse than a heavy cold. So my experience tells me to have the boosters - accept that they make you feel a bit poorly for a day or two but know that they will protect you from a much worse experience!

However, you have to decide what is best. I wouldn’t have the two together but I would have them both.

Hope this helps. Whatever you decide to do, stay safe 🤗🤗

The same story for me, caught COVID from my school age child after shielding for a year, ended up in hospital and nearly in intensive care. That was after 2 jabs, I was told I was lucky to make it as I was so ill when brought into A&E.

BrigidsFire profile image
BrigidsFire in reply toBee_E

Same here. Hospital after the first two jabs. There were only two of us on the Covid ward wh’d had the vaccines, and only the two of us left the ward for home rather than the ICU… That sealed the deal for me.

I had both last saturday with no side effects. Please keep up with your boosters because my cousin stopped having hers and recently caught covid which made her very ill and she's fit and healthy. She ended up at her doctors who said she was a lot more ill this time than the last time she caught covid because she'd stopped having her boosters and so lost her immunity.

lupime profile image

Update to my previous post about having the jabs at the same time - I now have abdominal pains and bad diarrhoea which I don't usually get with the separate jabs. Next year I will go back to having them separately again

I had that with just the Covid in May , few other people said the same . First time I've ever had a reaction.

yes I will take them all. I’m booked in on 1st November for both.

Hi nice to meet you

Yes had both yesterday and my husband

Numptybrain profile image
Numptybrain

I’ve had them i usually get sore arm from Covid but this time I had side effects from both achy shivery etc but I’ve caught Covid once while I was in hospital recovering from pneumonia and I ended up really ill, don’t want that to happen again so yes it’s worth it for me really for anyone who is immune suppressed. Whatever you decide, think very carefully.

Take care

I stop taking the Covid injections as I get weaker with each one , just the flu and pneumonia injections I take

Last year I was so ill after my covid jab I reported the side effects to the yellow card system. I had a temperature of almost 40° for 2 days, rigors, dreadful headache and was on the sofa for a week! Yesterday I had my flu jab- sore arm, headache, fatigue but coping. I'm really not sure about having the covid one again. I added my rheumatologist last week and she was unable to give me any guidance, or any reason why I am so adversely affected.

I had both last year -no side effects ,same again this month

Absolutely I do. I’ve had covid four times (my husband does a lot of air travel for work, so it’s almost inevitable) and with each set of vaccines it has been less and less brutal. The first time I was hospitalised twice in a week. The last time I barely noticed I had it.

My booster and flu jab are both booked in for 10 days time.

Only had my Covid vax in May so waiting till Nov. I've had about 8 but this was the first one that made me feel bad, upset my irritable bowel fir a few weeks. Would still recommend getting them though. Must get my flu done, have had a cold virus so have put it off. Husband had both together last weekend, no after effects.

Hi, our doctor isn't offering them and I don't feel up to chasing around looking for someone who is so I'm not bothering with it. I rarely leave the house plus I've had the flu one and the new respiratory one this week....I'm happy with those.

Your local pharmacy should do them.

I caught covid from the eye surgical team most definitely last December. Bad luck! Suffered very badly.

Do NOT want to be jabbed. Not following the fashion/trend for boosters. As for flu I don’t get it. Immune and hopefully for covid too!☝️

Not at all anxious about wanting to be jabbed but still shielding and avoiding crowds!☝️

Of course some on here love being vacced to the hilt? Sad. Perhaps I don’t like big needles.🙄🧐🤣

Both of have had both jabs. I was unaffected, but my wife was rough for almost a week - just completely zonked. As was one of her friends who said no corvid jab ever again.

FlowerdownAnnC profile image
FlowerdownAnnC

I’ve continued having vaccinations with varying responses. Sometimes I’ve been almost unaffected but once was unwell enough to need a couple of days off work. I was due my autumn booster recently when I’ve caught covid. It’s been nasty and I’m left with symptoms 3 weeks on. I feel this is because my spring booster was at the end of its effectiveness. I usually accept flu vaccine but I missed it one year, had flu and was ill for weeks ! Two weeks off sick then another 2/3 getting back to full strength! For me, vaccines are the right way forward but I understand and respect others reluctance. Good luck whatever route you choose. Best wishes

It’s very much a personal decision and based on your own experiences. I am currently in bed having caught Covid for the 8th time since 2020. Been extremely ill for 7 days and this is the 3rd time I’ve required hospital treatment. I’m very cautious where I go and I have led a sheltered life since the outbreak. I have accepted every vaccine possible to date, but each time I have the Covid vaccine my reaction increases and each time I catch it, it’s been worse than the previous occasions. I’m at the stage where I’m struggling to see the point in having the vaccine now. Feeling so unwell right at this moment so may not be the best time to make the decision but I can see both sides. Covid is fickle and it still affects its victims in unpredictable ways which is why you have to go by your own story and what’s been working best for you. Whatever you decide, stay well x

Sorry to hear but you’ve caught covid 8 times?! despite being vaccinated! Very strange!🙄

Aren’t vaccines supposed to protect you?

Don’t some mRNA vaccines give people blood clots!

Scary. There doesn’t seem to be a consistent medical opinion on this serious side effect.

peppa profile image
peppa in reply toSuvi8901

My understanding is the vaccine just reduces the severity it doesn’t necessarily stop you catching it. It just doesn’t seem to work for me I guess. Being immunosuppressed doesn’t help!

Yes I'm due to have the Covid booster and flu jab on the 19th, hopefully I won't have any issues

I remember when I had mine back in September 2022 on the same day I suffered from side effects. Each person is different.

Sarahmac8312 profile image

i have had mine. They are treating it like flu I had no issues with covid jab. I would get them at least a week apart. See how you feel after your flu jab.

I had them together last year and just felt tired so hopefully this year will be the same

Sadly, I can not have any more boosters because my reactions have been rather severe and the risks of vaccination now outweigh the positives. Each time has resulted in an escalation in meds / steroids or months of pain but from all the research I have read this is, thankfully, quite rare.

I say sadly because I am not an antivaxer, I have always accepted vaccines from smallpox through to flu. The consequences for me of not having them are the inevitable uncertainty around the dangers infection with covid or flu pose and how my body will react with less and less protection. I realise that I am left feeling quite vulnerable. If all things were equal, I would have my jabs but as others have stated it is an individual decision based on various things but mainly, I would say, on how your body reacts, if it is a minor few days of feeling rough or a very significant negative impact on your immune system.

I am only responding to your question as the majority of replies have been rightly positive, having minor or no problems post vaccine. I react very badly within hours but would still encourage others to protect themselves given the vulnerability I feel. Hope that helps a little.

Suvi8901 profile image
Suvi8901 in reply toRosieA

I, like you don’t want both jabs.

Never seem to get flu. Haven’t had flu for 20 years so probably immune? Got covid very badly and unluckily from my eye surgical team last December (see above post). So bad I needed antivirals but got through after two weeks of illness.

I live on my own, always shield, avoid crowds, socially distance, mask up whenever necessary, meticulous about washing hands and personal hygiene so why get boosted?

Just don’t want any more vaccinations. Can’t risk the side effects.

But others sadly despite having >10 boosters still get covid. One wonders why?

Can’t bear the hype of getting constantly pressured /jabbed and never ever suffer FOMO. Perhaps it’s actually JOMO with us!🤣(Joy of missing out?)

Your own immune system is probably much more protective than you think?

Regards

I had the Covid jab (not the flu as I never have it) on Saturday. I have been ill since then. Probably the worst I’ve ever been with a Covid jab. Muscle aches, congested sinuses, zero energy and a general feeling of extreme illness. I dread to think what I would have been like if I’d had both jabs!

Hi,Do you happen to know which make/type it was? I have mine booked for 5/11. Last time I had Moderna and felt ill for 17 days, to the point of not going out. I had shingles earlier in the year and even the nerve pain returned after the vaccine. When I had Pfizer previously I didn't have any reaction. I hope you feel better quickly!

HiveMind profile image
HiveMind in reply toloopy-lou

No sorry I don’t know what type it was. But I will find out! I must say that this one has knocked me for six though.

Hi, Thank you so much for letting me know. I really appreciate it. How are you feeling now? As I mentioned previously, I reacted to the spring Moderna one for 17 days. Mine is currently booked for November .

HiveMind profile image
HiveMind in reply toloopy-lou

I’m still not completely better tbh. Raging flu like symptoms and have now got terrible pains in my knee (right one) and my right big toe joint. I’m not entirely convinced that this jab is worth all of these side effects. :-(

I have an autoimmune condition so possibly that is not helping.

loopy-lou profile image

I am having my flu and covid vaccines separately. This is because I felt very ill for 17 days after my spring vaccine. I also had the pneumonia vaccine a few weeks ago.

Yes I got both a week ago. Usual sore arm from jabs but otherwise no problems.

I had flu vac a couple of weeks ago - and it was horrendous. I was completely knocked out for 24 hours or more and had a really sore swollen arm. Just had my covid yesterday and .... nothing. I feel completely fine. No. ten, so I feel vaxxed to the max!

ALWAYS ask yourself whether you actually need yet another booster?🧐

Never follow the crowd!

Think about the side effects!

For some these can be very serious!☝️

Think about all that lupus medication one is already on and the yet to be identified adverse drug reactions and interactions!☝️

We’re all different but FOMO and panic plus txt msgs can be very pressuring at this time of year.

I say JOMO this time but one still must shield and sensibly socially distance from the infected otherwise…?😱
