Skin biopsy
I have just recently had a biopsy and autoimmune inflammatory markers were found but also questionable urticarial vasculitis. Are you worried about something in particular?

Hi thanks for reply .I was told 8 years ago looks like Lupus .Had all symptoms of Lupus still having probs .Saw a proffers She said it’s not Lupus as bloods don’t show it .? But need biops of rash nipext Thursday .She doesn’t know what I have got could still be Lupus if biopsy shows it .Im confused ☹️
Well, yes, that's all reason for confusion. So sorry you're experiencing the complexities of this disease too...
There are several auto-immune conditions you could be looking at, therefore it does make sense that your doc said it's not Lupus without the Lupus bloods. But then that it still could be if the biopsy brings up markers. Over time we can produce antibodies that will show in the blood and/or in derma profiles that are helpful in getting the doctor closer to the culprit. I presently have a diagnosis of Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disorder and was also worried about Lupus through the initial process. But I began to understand through my own research that autoimmune diseases tend to develop over time (years) and there are several of them, where it's possible that it doesn't necessarily matter which one it is with regards to treatment, as many are treated exactly the same. Usually with antimalarials first, then immunosuppressants. As far as I can understand it, the labels seem more helpful to us for explaining the symptoms.
The fact that you've got a biopsy date should give some answers to your specialists in order to get to a right treatment as quickly as possible, even if it doesn't have a name -- yet. If the biopsy doesn't show Lupus, it should show something and that would, I presume, dictate your treatment.
Hoping you will feel a bit more at ease soon. None of this is a fun experience. So sorry it is your journey too. Panda x
