Hi guys, had very severe pleuritic pain all day Monday in work couldn't lie down.My hubby took me to gp Tuesday morning he sent to medical assessment unit in the city as my rhuematoligist and cardiologist are based there. Was assessed and kept in.Had a few CT scans with dye blood and kidney tests,iv antibiotic, have heart monitor on till tomorrow.all in less than 24 hours.Rhuemy and cardiologist arrived early this morning and now have a pulmonary specialist and have a bronchoscopy in the morning.Have to stop plaquenil for 2 weeks.A shadow showed up in the CT lung scan might be lupus related or not.Hope it's nothing sinister.Anyway my husband is petrified but I'm fairly calm as per usual.Oh by the way private hospital so I suspect that's why the prompt attention. They are all brilliant here.Circles.xxx

Thanks Coco. Will see what comes from all this the pain has greatly improved since yesterday.I think my plodding along days are over now.Hopefully now I will get sorted out.My hubby is a bit calmer today lol for a man that had major back surgery and on his back for months it really scares him to see me in pain or sick.He thinks I'm too calm but that's how I can cope with all this stuff. Will post when I have all results. Thanks again.Circles x😭

I know what you mean: I go into calm mode too during extreme passages 😉👍👍👍🍀

Awful for him and for you - but your calmness can only be a good thing because worrying or panicking wouldn't help you at all. Best of luck with the results X

Hi Circles

So sorry you are in hospital with chest pain but as you say your in the best place to get sorted. Good luck with all those tests, feeling for you as I went thru similar a few years ago!. A CT scan showed a shadow of inflammation and they couldn't decide if it was purely that or an infection!. They left it and have since concluded it was inflammation causing pericarditis. It's been transformed by Colchicine, a n anti- inflammatory for gout!. I hope they soon sort you out and you can go home. Thinking about you and keep us posted. Take Care,💐💐👌🏻👌🏻😊

Hi Circles

Yours sounds much more clear cut and the infection could easily have caused your chest symptoms and or flare symptoms!. You must have felt so ill. It's good your getting lots of tests , a thorough MOT. Have you had the bronchoscopy ?. I found it a tough test, not to be repeated!. Fingers crossed for your results , looking forward to your updates and hope u can go home soon. TAKE CARE. X
