So for sometime now I have been battling with an unbearable pain in my stomach and chest which goes through to my back. This is a excruciating pain that makes it impossible for me to lie down to sleep. Went to emergency but after series of labs and xray nothing was diagnosed so was asked to use pain killers. They are not working and I'm in constant pain which is so frustrating for me. Any recommendations please

Severe bloating and chest pain
Have you spoken to your GP? The ED isn't the placec to get a diagnosis - they are there to keep you alive until you can get treatment from your GP and a referral if appropriate. You tell us nothing in your profile - not even what country you are in and that is also very relevant.
Central chest pain as you describe can have several underlying causes and one is acid reflux. Gall bladder problems is another possibility. So is oesophageal spasm. They probably wouldn't show on the tests they did, you need others ordered by your GP. Even gall stones only show on x-ray if they are calcified - 1 in 10!
You need to get a GP appointment since the ED ruled out the life-threatening options of heart attack and probably a PE (pulmonary embolism). Diagnosis takes time.
I have from time ot time what you describe and it has been either a coronary artery spasm or oesophageal spasm - both very similar and both excruciatingly painful, but not life-threatening.
PMRpro offers good advice in seeing your GP and getting a proper diagnosis. Good luck.
If you cant lie down or to left side it could be pericarditis. My daughter is recovering from it.
I’ve been through a bit similar and I’ve had lung issues as mentioned in a post but mine turned into a blocked pancreas duct.
Go to your GP as mentioned and be have all your dear ails and timeline with you. Hugs.
Hi Konsi, i had something very similar early this year. I wound up in ED due to the pain, but all tests came back clear, except for raised pancreas and liver markers in my bloods. They were thinking gallstones. Saw an upper GI specialist who did an endoscopy - turned out to be a hiatus hernia. It was creeping up into my ribcage and pressing against my heart, hence the chest pain. Surgery resolved all symptoms. If it persists, get an endoscopy, it’s the only way to diagnose a hernia.
