Has anyone experienced itchy legs relate to lupus at all?
I have been scratching to the point that I have big bruises all over my legs.
Wondering if this could be related to DLE at all... Not had blood tests for sometime, doctors just prescribed some antihistamine... Not sure if I should contact my dermatologist or continue with the doctors

I often have very itchy legs which, coupled with the burning pain of peripheral neuropathy, nearly drives me crazy. I smother them with Ceruban cream during the day and at night I find biofreeze calms them at least a bit. I have DLE with some SLE symptoms. Hope you find something to help you. Good luck.
I very frequently get rashes so itchy that I either end up with bruising or scabs from scratching so much it's absolutely unbearable I absolutely feel your pain and am sorry you are going through this I hope you can find some relief somehow!!
It drives me mad. Sometimes I cannot help myself and I will just have to scratch until I bleed. I know that the more I scratch the worse it becomes but I am absolutely helpless to stop. It is usually my lower legs and feet, but there are other spots where things can get out of control quickly. My mother passed away from liver cancer and for months previous to her death she suffered with acute itching. I was always told that the liver would cause itching if things were not running as they should. One way to check your liver function is to look at the palms of your hands and if they are bright red anywhere or all over, your liver is probably not healthy nor functioning properly. Mine are very red (both) along the sides under my little fingers...all the way down.
I am concerned after looking this up online that it is liver related. Thankfully although slow to get an appointment, I've been referred for bloods straight away so will hopefully rule out any underlying issues
My entire relationship with Lupus began with uncontrollable itching on my back; but as my blood relatives all have/had Dermatitis my Dr wasn't too fussed about it... until my wife showed him the vividly sore patches of skin peeling off it [of course I didn't know that, having never seen my own back before!]. It got rapidly worse, whilst I was also stricken with incontinence and unable to climb up or down stairs. The consultant he sent me to prescribed a stay in hospital which went on for WEEKS whilst nurses rubbed medicated cream into my back once every two hours until it cleared up. My wife (also my carer), still has to rub special moisturising soap (Dermol) over my back every night. The stairs problem was never solved and we had to buy a stair lift [a second hand one - they're very costly!].
Keep an eye on this problem and keep your Dr in the loop all the time - good luck
SLEEPING DOG... Sad note; our real sleepy dog died on Saturday - family in mourning!!!
