Taken two lots of pred by mistake

Hi everyone. I am on 4mg of steroids which I take in the morning, I have just by mistake taken tomorrow's dose instead of my hydroxi, tired and wasn't thinking what I was doing? 

Has anyone else done this? 

Worried what will happen!

Most of us who have been on pred have done it at some point! Though more likely we've forgotten to take a dose until we start hurting again!

It'll be fine, just put out another dose for tomorrow morning and take your hydroxy if you haven't taken it. You'll maybe feel better than usual - don't worry about it at all.

Have you got a dosette box? You can get them for 1 day, 1 week and even 1 month so that you can see what you've taken and not mix up the tablets that look similar.

What PMR said. Plaquenil stays in your system for a long time, so you would be unlikely to have any ill effects at all. Doubling your dose of prednisone may give you an especially nice day and you may find yourself getting extra things done.

Just to agree with what has already been said

It is a low dosage and you will be fine.

Again get a dosset box it saves the worry and once you have sorted it out for the week it reduces the chances of forgetting to take them or getting them confused.

I use a dosett box, do not know how I managed to take tomorrow mornings pred instead of tonight's hydroxi!

I use a dossett box, 18 pills a day, I'm a recently retired nurse and used to be responsible for meds for a whole ward, now have to be very careful managing my own! It's hell when all the pills run out at different times, back and forth to the pharmacy all the time, than back to the hospital pharmacy at the moment as well.

It's easy to make mistakes and the dossett does avoid this happening although it's a pain filling it!

To be honest the only time you need to worry is if you miss your dose of pred.
