Have you talked to your doctor about the issue with being tired and eating chocolate at night? If you have blood sugar issues, you may need a snack because you may start to have low blood sugar.

Have you tried having a drink instead? It's a silly thing but sometimes people mistake thirst for hunger, also I find if I'm wanting to nibble at night when I'm tired, if I brush my teeth it deters me from eating x

This may not fit your evening plans but have you tried just going to bed a bit earlier? Wondering whether you are craving junk food due to flagging energy when what you really need is sleep? Just a thought please ignore if not relevant to your circumstances!

Hi. i feel your pain, only thing i can suggest is try not to have it in the house, but plenty of GOOD things like fruit, and carrots, celery etc. Evenings are my downfall and we live 10 miles from nearest shop which helps to curb impulse buying.

I also get Muller light yoghurts, black cherry is my favourite and hartleys 10 cal jellies and find jelly n yoghurt satisfies my "need" for something sweet, am following SW prog and its only 1 syn so can fit into my programme

Good luck and keep on trying

When we're tired, carbohydrates give us energy. Maybe you just learned to read your body needs. I have had a drink of water (when I remember) instead of nibbling, on many occasions. It works.

The cleaning your teeth trick really works for me! Also is there something you can do instead of eating: watching a tv programme that you love or something. It might help to allow yourself one evening snack only, something like a small amount of popcorn, or some yoghurt. Once you've had your evening snack, that's it!

There's a few possibilities, one is habit, another is that you're not eating enough earlier in the day.

Personally I've been finding the best way to break the habit is with time restricted eating, so basically I eat in a 10 hour window, then I don't eat between the hours of 8pm and 10am. I stop at 8pm, because I find eating later than that can cause me to wake in the night, which makes me more tired.

Don't buy it and you won't eat it.

What you may be in is what I call bored eating. It keeps your hands busy and it is a no think habit. Use it do not lose it. Change your snack to a fresh pile of blueberries or raspberries or even nuts like almonds or Pistachios. It is a lot more healthier and can help you lose weight and nourish your body. You can even try a spoon full of peanut butter (all natural) Or a rice cake.
