not sure why you want to lower your cholesterol if it is 5.2 ? NHS guidlelines suggest 5 or below so yours is hardly high ( I dont agree with the whole cholesterol myth but if you need to conform to doctors then 5.2 is hardly a big issue )
low cholesterol is associated with an increased risk of dementia amongst other things...
Losing weight certainly helped me, but not for this lady, her BMI is 18.5 so right at the bottom of the healthy range 🙂
Has your doctor recommended you lower your total cholesterol? It doesn’t sound too bad to me. Mine was 7.8 a couple of years ago but my other risk factors at the time were low. I’ve recently lost weight and reduced sugar intake to get my prediabetic blood sugars back in the healthy range. That’s been successful and my total cholesterol has dropped to 5.8 and my doctor is happy with that.
