Hi all

Hi Joe, well done for joining us and being open because at the end of the day we are what we are and recognising this is more than half the battle so I wish you well in your quest to eat healthier and hopefully you will find inspiration for healthier eating and you have the motivation by being an ex alcoholic as this took strength and now you want to use this strength to get fitter and healthier.
Healthy eating is about our chosen lifestyle and its not hard to eat healthily and doesn't have to be complicated as fresh food is exactly that. Exercise is great because it releases brain hormones that make us feel good. Here's a link to another HU site Walking for health, you may get inspiration from there as well:

I also think it may be helpful if you remind your self that the past is the past and instead of beating ourselves up over it we use it so that history does not repeat itself.
I've been a prison volunteer and am a patron to a charity for ex offenders who have to stay clean so know how well you've done.
So now you want to look to the future and your future and you're in good company on here.
Thats my 2p's worth and I wish you well with this.
Jerry 😊

Hi JoePanky ,
Welcome to the group. Please feel free to continue posting your postings and comments, reading and commenting on the other member's postings and/or comments, take a look at the Topics section for ideas and information, ask questions, take the polls on the Polls section, attend the monthly meetings held one weekend a month (usually a Saturday-- December 9th is the next meeting), and of course, get to meet the rest of the group.
For Diabetes information and the free leaflets, please check out the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation's website at: drwf.org.uk/understanding-d...
The leaflets are free for downloading, reading and/or listening at anytime.
You can also join/check out the DRWF's group on HU at: healthunlocked.com/drwfdiab...
I hope this helps.
