Feeling better

Following yet another kidney infection, I'm starting to feel better. In line with this year's theme of prioritising my own needs, I went to the hospital as soon as I had pain (it was Sunday) and got the antibiotics I needed. I rested and ate well and minimised contact with the drama llamas in my life and let my those who love me take care of me (that's the hardest bit). I finished the meds on Saturday and today feel a lot better. I'll take it carefully for the next few days but it feels good to be on the mend. I've got so much catching up to do after all the difficult times last year but I feel like I can do it and that's thanks to the support from everyone here. I'm edging back out into the world and feeling less like hiding lately which is unexpected but welcome.

This is great news, Daylightsaving.I'm glad you are feeling better.

Sometimes physical illness forces us to slow down and pay attention to the body.

I get that it is hard to let someone take care of you. It is a very vulnerable place to be in.

It's great that you are more able to connect with the world and less like hiding. I find it inspirational...thank you.

Thank you for sharing such a positive post. It is inspiring to hear how well you are doing.

Hi and so glad to hear you are recovering and ready to face the world again. Little by little and sounds like you are gaining confidence. Well done for getting back to prioritising your needs and for allowing your loved ones to care for you. I agree that's often the hardest part!

Hi

I'm glad you are on the mend. I had a kidney infection a few summers ago and it kicked my butt. I couldn't believe how sick I felt.
