Tired and at a loss

The stuff I have to deal with is never ending. I don't know why it is but it feels like I can never catch a break. For years now i've never had the energy to do anything and it seems to be getting worse. I go to work and come home and just wanna be a bump on the log. Always being tired and not sleeping sucks and makes everything worse. Ugh I just don't know anymore.

I bet uou would feel better with your sleep cycle straightened out. Have you tried all the OTC supplements? Are you on any prescription meds?

I am on Seroquel and Prozac. Prozac, Lisinopril and Omeprazole I take in the morning and Seroquel I take at night. But for some odd reason my mind and body fights the tiredness.

You could get a light therapy lamp - the ones sold for Seasonal Affective Disorder are not too expensive and they sort out your sleep cycle and improve your mood. I have experience of this - in fact I have my lamp on right now - because I use a blue light therapy lamp to help with my acquired brain injury. There is plenty of research on this online. Best wishes.

Seroquel if I recall is sedating. Do you take that p.m.?

Yes I take the Seroquel an hour or two before bed. The Prozac I take in the morning.

One of the things you can do is to help yourself out physically by cutting out caffeine and lowering your cortisol. I take ashwaghanda, phosphatidyl serine and magnesium glycinate before bedtime to lower cortisol. I've also found that taking melatonin before bedtime helps too. If i'm still stuck in a no sleep cycle I will take half a benzo (klonopin) at bedtime which usually does the trick. In my state, cbd is legal and at one time I used a cbd tincture with herbs for sleep aid that worked but it's not recommended for people with glaucoma which I have. One of the other things which can be hard, is to try to not judge yourself for the sleep issue, which just makes it worse, but be as compassionate with yourself as you can.
