Do you have a gate keeper to ward off the most difficult thoughts. This little butterfly could help remind you.

If we have PTSD or an anxiety disorder we all have thoughts that can spiral out of control at times.

I developed GAD two years ago after 2 life traumas in close succession and became very ill very quickly.

I felt dizzy and nauseous, lost my appetite completely and felt afraid for no apparent reason almost all the time. The periods when I felt as if I was myself again we're short lived before I spiralled again into a frightening sequence of thoughts.

Stopping the train of thought before I began to going down that spiral could help prevent fear building up.

I took a walk through the countryside and along the shore of my coastal estuary and came upon a hedgerow of pink blackberry blossom which was alive and buzzing with bees and butterflies.

At quick glance the butterflies all looked brown and dun coloured but when looking closely I noticed the different markings many of them displayed. This fellow is quite pretty I think. When I got home and looked him up I found that he provided yet another opportunity for a metaphor. He is the Gate keeper. What gate he keeps I am not sure but he could do worse than help us be a gate keeper of our thoughts.

Thank you very much, Kkimm, for this beautiful photo and a reminder to slow down the mind.

I really need to do this right now. It's so exhausting.
