The answer for me? Is no one.

The duplicitous nature of human beings never ceases to amaze me.

Those once considered friends

can very easily turn to enemies .

What was once

love & care ?

Can very quickly turn to hate .

Is it a defect of mind?

Or of spirit ?

Or of body?

When they reach in

& launch their offense

Do you notice?

They always go for our weakness.

& When it happens so often , it eventually ceases to hurt.

The scars are picked at so much

the nerves become numb

& One ceases to feel .

At that point

You might wonder,

Who can you trust ?

I know the feeling.

I walked away from my group of friends, because of some toxicity and angst to me during my time of worst health/PTSD symptoms.

You have to keep your chin up and walk away, but try not to regret the loss of time, nor allow their words to sting and wound you. Tough eh?

I'm still annoyed/angry at those folk who stabbed me in the back when I had my defences down......

Meoww!!

I was lucky and a couple of years later, met another group of people - whilst studying - and they were all mature, calm, inspiring, caring people who restored my faith in life, self, others ... just enough to keep me going again until I could get over those foolish, empty, freaks who I had known and suffered at the whims of a couple of years earlier.

It's a shame, they still can make me MAD even today 10 years on. Sad for me I think. Maybe an invaluable lesson though...

I learnt to really strive for meaningful, sincere friendships and people in my life. I strove to be that person more aswell.

I'm just gutted they 'won' over me and brought me down for a while - self-confidence, reputation....

The main problem with this is that most every human is capable of being a jerk and we with PTSD tend to walk away until few are left.

You're right.  Few remain.  But if that's the way it has to be I'm ok with it at this point.  I live at peace.
