Numb face

Does anyone else get this in the morning? Numb but slightly tingly face, lips, mouth, cheeks.

It's a bit like when you have had an injection at the dentist but twenty mins after procedure it starts to wear off and feel sort of 'spongy and tingly'

I can't describe it better than that!!!

It's also the roof of my mouth and my tongue.

Not sure if it is the meds. It first started when I had amitryptaline for a few weeks but I stopped taking them ages ago. On Gabapentin and co codamol now with some trammies at night.

Hi

I have similar only my face only, all over but not on my neck and it stops just under my chin.

To touch, it doesn't hurt but if I touch it ever so lightly I get the tingles that follow my fingers.

I first noticed it when my face was on the pillow one night and the loose bit of pillowcase was touching my face and that was when I first noticed this feeling (I now have a memory foam pillow with no loose bits) .

As I say no pain but weird feeling and it is there all the time.

Take care and kindest regards.

Ah, good to know it's not just me then!!!! Must try to find out if it's just a symptom or the meds.

Never had it personally, but it does sound like some kind of nerve impingement in the cervical spine. We do get ourselves in some odd positions to get comfortable, so it's not too much of a stretch to see us putting something in the wrong position.

Either way, best to get the GP or a physio on it, to get a proper diagnosis and possible treatment. xx

I have had this sensation for years, even my tongue, gums and teeth can tingle.

Despite telling GP's and Neurologist, I don't know what causes it, and what's more

they aren't interested in the problem! I had it well before my current and only med'

Sertraline.
