Does anyone have this at night. I wake up between 5 and 20 times a night. You know what I'm talking about. You have to keep changing you position because of the pain. I get fed up of the numb left arm and hand and my right hand. At first it was frightening. I'm not frightened anymore. Just annoyed. It's frustrating. I have told the doctors. They don't suggest anything. There blank.

Numb arms
Hi
Yes I get a great deal of numbness and not only at night.
If I am holding my hand in one position for any length of time, then all my fingers and whole hand go completely numb.
I have the same numbness all over. Sitting for more than ten minutes at a time can result in my legs going completely numb. Highly embarrassing when I go to stand up.
I know that Quinine works well for cramp. I am wondering whether it is worth trying for numbness.
Quinine can be found in Tonic Water.
Sorry I can't be of more help, but at least you know that you are not alone.
Wishing you a peaceful night.
Lu xx

Typical doctors they don't understand unfortunately. I know just how it feels. I've went night's without sleep because of this but mostly I just can't sleep anyway. I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you. But I hope you get some relief. Maybe a sleeping pill or something. Best wishes xx
Hi, sorry you are having this. Could it be carpal tunnel syndrome what you are experiencing? If yes, splits might help you. Hope you get a reasonable night sleep tonight!😴
Hi, sorry you are having these problems. I am having similar problems with my hands during the night. They go numb, fingers bend over and go into spasms, a bit like cramp. This is a new one for me and very painful. It takes some time for me to be able to straighten my fingers and for the pain/cramp to subside. My fingers are stiff all day long now. I thought this was another fibro symptom that would come and go but it's not gone yet! Been happening for a few weeks now so I suppose it's another trip to the doctors for them to uhm and aah and not do very much!! Yours sounds similar to my mums sypmtoms and that was carpel tunnel. She wore a splint for a few weeks and it improved a lot so fingers crossed they can do something similar for you. Gentle hugs x
I have this, along with pain when I rotate my wrists or arms. My chiropractor says the night numbness etc is caused my the muscles in my shoulders and neck getting tight. Apparently this can cause the nerves going down the arms to get squashed ( I'm sure there is a better, medical term for this!). Sometimes she says my neck and shoulders feel rock hard, when I get this. Once she has worked on them with ultrasound and massage I find the night numbness stops, at least for a while. So it might be worth seeing a good chiropractor or getting a sports massage.
yes I get this, for me it comes from my neck as I believe the nerves run down your arms. My neck is always really tight and sore as are the muscles on my shoulders. I have a physio massage as much as possible which really makes a difference.
Hey Hun,
Not so much in my arms, but I do get this in my legs and my hands. I at first was really scared about what was happening and spoke to the doctor, just got told it was another part of Fibro and I should move more often HAHA! xxx
I like that it's funny.Its a typical response, keep moving, they haven't got a clue.😁
Hi, I have this first they thought it was carpal tunnel but it was facet joints in neck/spine.
It was odd as it wasn't the arm/hand I lay on, it was the free arm/hand. A few times it was in both I had to wake hubby as I couldn't move, that was frightening
I get this too. I told the neurologist at my last appointment and he said it's the nerves in my neck and now I understand why it happens it's not so scary. Wakes you up though quite a lot.
Sorry you are having these broken nights. I had something similar and discovered that I was sleeping with my arms curled up.
I now use a pillow to hug and attempt to keep my my shoulders from hunching and my arms held out in front of my body. No more sore arms
