Just wondered how many of you find flare ups around your period? I still have them at 53 but have noticed it always seems to be around that time I get them.
This month I have missed one but on the 30 th day of my cycle had 5 days of pain, sweats and ibs.!
As if they are not bad enough on there own lol

Hi Sue. I had a hysterectomy years ago but the nervous system that helps control periods can be very sensitive to changes in the body which unfortunately include fibro symptoms. I hope this helps.
hi sue im 56 n i havnt missed a period yet i get very bad pre menstral sympyoms n bak n stomach ache ,terrible hot sweats ,pmt symptoms r twice as bad as before i started with fm ,i keep hoping that each one will b the last soft hugs tofty xx
My CFS/ME most definately got much worse with the menopause ... but the trade off was no more heavy, extremely (cocodamol 30/500 and 600 ibruprohen) painful periods. CFS/ME wasn't really affected by time of month. Wasn't diagnosed with Fibro back then so can't really say.
Thanks for replys. Tofty I know what you mean I miss one then next time had 2 in 3 weeks. So hoping now they will decrease. Mine are very heavy but I also have fibroids but due to having tracheal stenosis I do not have a good chance to have an hysterectomy as I have problems with intubation. Anyway that's nothing to do with Fibro lol
Hi sue im 42 and apparently peri-menapausal im still having periods although they are not as regular and instead of montly i could have 2 in a month then none for a few months lol and like you the few days before a period I experience a worsening in my fibro symptoms; increased pains, sweats, sleep problems, and extreme mood swings. In fact I can now predict a period several days in advance due to the changes in my fibro. Oh what a woman must put up with lol x Dixie
