Menopause.. black cohosh...weight gain? ?

Hello is there anyone out there that has experienced using black cohosh instead of hrt? ....I have started using it a week ago but aswell as hrt I have cut my hrt in half as to ween off it instead of just stopping, I also take the pms Angus cast us, an in a week I've put a long of weight on an just wondering if its the black cohosh coz this is new for me to take, I've taken agnus castus in the past but don't recall the weight gain, can anyone advise please much appreciated thank u xx

No I’m sorry I haven’t but weight gain seems to be common in both menopause and fibromyalgia . I need something for losing weight . I was going to try black cohosh but for some reason I didn’t xxSorry I can’t help you but I thought I would just say hello xx😇

Don’t know but I have fibro and menopause and have gained four stone in three years 🎉

Hi, I tried taking Black cohosh for menopausal symptoms, but don't remember any weight gain (I am not sure if anything would cause weight gain in such a short space of time!). I would suggest asking your G.P. As others have already said, the menopause can lead to weight gain. I have gradually gained weight since going through the menopause (which incidentally coincided with my fibromyalgia diagnosis!) I also found that the black cohosh did not help my symptoms, but we are all different, so hope you find it useful.xxx

Thanks for replies, maybe its just me its just weird i seem to jave gone up a dress size in a week, il stop using the supplements see how i go, a few ladies have said they have put weight on thru their meno stage but said since takin hrt, im takin hrt plus 2 meno supplements maybe its too much ohhh the joys of womanhood. Hi Hidden I hear what you are going thru- maybe you would get more info from the Endometriosis link as many ladies on there will be going thru the same,, go to My hub and find it in the drop down..... do you have fibro hun>?

Hi NurseGladys123, yes was diagnosed with fibro in 2010, had hysterectomy in 2016, but still got my ovaries, docs took bloods last year and said I've been catapulted thru menopause and gave me the high dose hrt, I was sceptical to take it at first son took me a few months to start them but I recently went back coz 4 months in an still no improvements of symptoms so I added the pms agnus castus s few weeks ago and I'm slit calmer but still got the other symptoms so I started black cohosh, ok I will head over to the endometriosis hub and check it out, I don't know what that is but I will head over thank u xx
