Thyroid - Flare - Menopause

Hi my fibro friends 🧡, I am feeling sad today as struggling BIG time with my own health, that of my husbands, mum & dads health too!

Alongside fibro i am on week four of starting out on thyroid tabs, menopause, fibro flare, i missed the webinar on Tuesday as felt the same and that was a huge shame. My tiredness is off the scale and I feel teary etc.

My husband is also in a flare with his illness at moment too. My dad is being assessed for possible dementia not sure yet, long process & my mum has stage 4 lung & pleural cancer. I organise and take them to all their appointments but I am feeling so burdened with it all and feeling overwhelmed with the responsibility to be completely honest.

Have any of my fibro friends struggled with thyroid and fibromyalgia? It would be encouraging to know how you have managed.

Big hugs 🫂 to all of you all and thank you for taking the time to read this short post 🤣😂!!!

Thank you LittleDaisy67 😘.Yes you're right, currently relaxing with a cuppa, heat vest, paracetamol but it's tough finding the time for mei also have a 16 year beautiful son who is very understanding and knows when I/We need a hug but that in itself can make me feel guilty as he's an only child with all his family members around him unwell....but I can't do anything about that 💔❣️.....I just keep open dialogue about everything.

A big thank you for your support it means a lot 💛💛💛.

Have a good day and BIG gentle hugs back to you and hope you are not suffering too much today.

Bless you! So much to cope with. No wonder you feel overwhelmed. Do you have any one who could help you?I hate asking for help but sometimes you have to admit you can't manage.

I'm waiting for results of a thyroid test . I paid for this one as the ones I've had before say negative but apparently but that can mean borderline / low. I can't believe that the weight gain, hair loss etc is just the fibro and I keep looking for answers for all my health issues.

I really hope you get some help with your family, don't be afraid to ask. Big gentle hug to you. Xx

Thank you marguLIS 🥰🥰🥰,

Oh gosh you too are suffering with thyroid, umm hair loss, weight gain I can sympathise with whole heartedly darling.

I hope you recieve a positive outcome with your test....I live in France & I believe the blood tests are a little more thorough.

I could ask for help yes.....i think i must start doing this.....my lovely french friend is a drug sales representative to docs & chemists and has said that often with the thyroid it is in fact the liver often that isnt filtering correctly whuch in turn effects the thyroid and that although our blood readings show an amélioration on paper we dont feel better as a result of our liver lot filtering.....gosh i hope im making sense!!!

I will check out the thyroid health unlocked thankbuou so very much foe your support....very kind and I wish you all the luck and love possible.

hello Uellow22 yes I have both fibromyalgia and thyroid issues ( underactive) and it’s quite debilitating. No wonder you are over whelmed as I find it difficult to cope on a daily basis with just myself ( had to give up work as couldn’t cope, 5/6 years ago). The biggest issue I believe is the thyroid as doctors do not treat as well as they could as they have little understanding. I’m not sure if you’re on the thyroid site, but I’d strongly recommend it for yourself and marguLIS as the knowledge you’ll gain there is more than anywhere else I know. It’s the thyroid arm of health unlocked. I’m sorry I can’t be of anymore help except to say you have my upmost sympathy and do not underestimate how the thyroid failing completely destroys how you feel. Most of us get private blood tests and you’ll get all the answers on the said site. Best wishes to all T x

Hi TeeFee63,

Thank you so very much for your advice and support...it really has made me think that apart from recent bloods that showed up a thyroid issue (cant remember if I'm over or under active) that i havent had it checked in over 2 years so how long have I been suffering with it?

I will take a look at HealthUnlocked today and qee how they m1y help.

A huge thank you for your support and truly hope you can get some relief asap ......so sad thesz things take so long....big cuddly hugs xxxxxx 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Hello, I am sending really big hugs as you’ve so much going on ☹️and trying too look out for family must be taking its toll, is there any outside help for your mum &dad ? Or siblings too help , take one day at a time and if you have a practioner nurse at your surgery maybe have a chat as menopause can be enough on its own and sometimes when it all gets too much we need that listening ear of help and advice xx

Hi Yassytina,Thank you for taking the time to contact me. Yes i try to take one day at a day time.

Ive tried hrt which made me feel awful thats why i was very disappointed to miss the webinar last week, but i believe its been recorded.

I live in France and you know sometimes its a little too much to talk in french when i feel like this also......the répétition of the situation can be emotionally exhausting. I do speak to the MacMillan equivalent here bur you know as i am typing I think I may call MacMillan support line they ha e been wonderful before....thank you foe that thought darling 😘. No siblings, only an estranged brother in UK.

Big hugs Yassytina thank you🥰🥰.

I hope you are not struggling too much at the moment xxxxx

Hi, I suffer with hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia. It can be a real struggle sometimes, can’t it ? I have finally got my thyroid meds sorted. So I’m hopeful that that will be one less thing! Remember to just take care of yourself. It’s so easy to overdo things, especially when we feel we should be doing more. A little TLC can go a long way. It certainly helps with our annual blood tests to look after our thyroid function. At least if our blood count is ok we only have our fibromyalgia symptoms to take care of . I know it’s hard and sometimes we get sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Baby steps, easy does it. X

Uellow22

Hi Smoothietogo,

Thank you very much foe taking the time to message me so kind and also very positive too.....how long has it taken you to get to the right meds point?

I love your thinking....so true if you can get one sorted you can deal with the other issue.

I hope your levels stay stable so it doesn't impact your fibro 😘😘 .

Baby steps and not giant steps ummm ok ill try that.

Have a good Sunday 🌷💛

Uellow22,

Fibro, menopause and just to tip over the edge under active thyroid, Amongst all this have been thrown into the midst of gal stones (aprox15,) infected bladder, depression, anxiety, I have to take up to 3 diazepam to get me outside to attend appointments,

I had a work based injury when I was a carer which has taken my ability to walk normally or just standing up can leave me with so much pain on top of all the drugs (prescribed) they just don't seem to help anymore,😒 I can't wash my hair or bath without my 😇 Hubby, I have no wish to garden anymore, (I would be out gardening with a lamp on my hat in the night! What the chuff??)We lived in a very quiet area and I worked full-time as well as keeping the house immaculate,

I miss my old life, watch out wonder woman I'm coming through,Now it's, Come on 1 more step, A house that deserves a lot more tending too 😞

So to end, Who looks after you? Sorry it sounds like Na Na NaNa Na, But you just to tell them your not coping with everybody using your precious time and energy,

Call someone who can put you in the right way to get help or some rest bite for yourself

Take care

Debs x
