yesterday was too nice to sit at home so we drove to the Lake district I am lucky it is only three quarters of an hour away. Having taken couple of wrong turns we found our selves at Haweswater a long lake with steep skree sides where the sun was not shinning. So it appeared gloomy and over cast. A long the side we drove to the bottom where to our surprise there was no way out tall leering rock cliffs loomed on every side. So we turned around and went back. It is very un- inhabited but the wild flowers were extraordinary beautiful clinging to the road edges.
Then we went to Shap Wells a strange hotel that during the war had been a prisioner of war camp for german officers. It is still a little strange - no barbed wire or anything just a very large Hotel in the middle of no where.
All that and back in time fro tea- um that was quite enough for me - at least I know why I hurt today!
Have a good day guys x gins

Lexie the Hotel is called the The Best Western at Shap Well shap Cumbria. If you look there also others in Shap itself which look goood outside but I have never been in. Shap is the highest point on the motorway and a little on the outside of the Lakes xgins
Gins that must mean you live in the Preston area by my reckoning .... so do I. Unless of course you were driving West or south? I know the area you describe very well as we used to live near Penrith.
