Hi Dave

A suggestion that helps me is before you start using your computer fill a basin with warm water and bubbles and just spend five mins exercising your fingers it helps loosen the joints working under water. then dry your hands get comfy and away you go. Never worry if you make mistakes we understand some days I seem to write nonsense--- always try smiling it helps :) x gins

I use the computer at work and have adapted and just use one finger on each hand to type. I have a wrist support for the keyboard and also one for the mouse which help. I get foggy and type the wrong things all the time so I have gat used to reading before finish typing.

I try to get as much as I can done on good days and then just get by on bad ones. Dont worry about mistyping on here we are all in the same boat anr understand.

Take care,

Martina

I use speech recognition software beginning with the letter 'D' and find it very useful. It very soon learns your speech patterns and the more you use it the cleverer it becomes. I also use a 'smart pen' which records what you hear, say or write and can even convert to text on your PC. It does need a dedicated type of paper to write on but these come in snazzy little notebooks of all sizes. It is quite good for recording important conversations you might not want to get confused about at a later date with good old Fibro Fog, and being only the size of a chunky fountain pen can be set to record and stuck in your pocket or spine of a notebook and be unobtrusive.

Zena, That sounds great. How did you get it and where from?

Wow that's impressive info Zena, thanks for posting! I am sure that will help others in our forum! I personally find typing on my keyboard daily actually helps my Osteoarthritis because using all my fingers like that keeps them reasonably supple. Any info that can help others who find it difficult is most welcome, thanks again! :) :)

I use the on-screen keyboard and the mouse. You can find in accessories then accessibility.

Wow, there's some amazing technology out there! I exercise my hands in warm water sometimes, I also rub a herbal cream into them which helps with the pain. I not only type rubbish but speak it too! Being dyslexic and having visual challenges, all compounded with fibro, make for an interesting life, smiling is essential;))
