hot and cold sweats, cramps all over
I have sweats as well, I thought it was the menopause but it isnt, I dont really have
flare ups now IM just ill all the time
lally, I am the same as you. Pain never leaves anymore. I wake up hoping I can do a few things each day....Sorry for your pain.
I get the sweats when i do i start striping off then i get cold and put cardi back on and at night. knew it was'nt the change as had that at 42 after hysterctomy(dont think thats spelt right sorry). Read on one site its part of fibro as it affects how we regulate our body temprature, also Dr said it could be partly to do with the meds we take. soft hugs.xx
oh forgot to say dont get cramps leave that one to hubby who suddenly jumps up hopping around grabing his leg in agony, or shots out of bed with cramp.lol.xx
GP can prescribe meds which reduce cramping almost entirely
Hi yes i also suffer this, like scrumie, sweating hot 1 min then strip down to nothink then get really cold, this happens day and nite, and i also read it was part of fibro ........ I also suffer with cramps ...... never ending is it ;-( xxxx
I am very sensitive to the weather - also get very hot and flushed sweating, or icy cold and take hours to get warm. For me it is not a sign of the start of a flare up. (Not linked to menopause or medication for me) purely symptomatic.
Hi Lorraine45,
Hopefully as I am male I can put some perspective on this without the complication of the female "hot flashes" of menapause.
I get night sweats so bad that I have to change my pillow anything from once to three times a night (and i mean they are absolutely wringing wet, nice huh), obviously it's not just my head sweating but that is by far the worst. Also, at times during the day I can get a sweat on for no apparent reason and it just drips of me for anything up to an hour at a time and I have to have mopping up equipment at the ready!
Equally, getting out of the shower is bad every day, and even though I shower at a temp that seems freezing to everyone else, still it comes in buckets - I find that I need to stand at an open window to get it to calm down.
In conclusion, well my conclusion anyway, if I exert even a small amount of effort (by my standards - I used to be very high energy always on the go like a lot of peeps here and an ex Royal Marine), I start to sweat profusely and I have to find cool from somewhere, like a good breeze, then stay still and let things settle again - this can take 5-10 mins.
As far as the question of drugs being the root cause or just increasing the physical response: that's anyone's guess. My personal guess is that it is the fibro....as the body's way of trying to cool us as our muscles are generating more heat than previously. Like I said... as everything... it's all guesswork huh!
Anyway, I hope this helps you monitor and try to make YOUR OWN sense of it
Kind regards
Peachy x
PS as for cramps.. my muscles cramp all the time upon extension.... more when i'm physically tired - when i've been grocery shopping for instance.
PPS I do have major issues with my cervical spine and had two discs replaced with titanium ones two years ago.... so cramping is old news for me
Best wishes

I really appreciative the advice and kind words thankyou xxx(hugs)
