Hi pixieash, it may also be Plantafacitus, so you should have it checked out with your gp. this condition is a shortening of the achilles tendon and creates pain in your leg, heal and feet and becomes difficult to walk. The nobs you describe is not something i have heard of, so really would be an idea to speek to your gp.

my feet do swell. rest and a low, not flat shoe is the best and there are a number of products on the market that aids in soothing aching feet, legs which do help as i use them and just plain old rest.

hugs poppy xx

I have been wondering the same thing as my left ankle has gotten much worse over the last 2 months and every time i stand up i feel more popping and pain around my inside ankle joint and achilles tendon is there anything that can be done to help so as to try and live a normal life

I was told I had plantar fascihitis from pain along the bottom of my feet, I was given exercises to do. However now that has eased, I got some of the aerobic type trainers, (expensive, but well worth it in my case anyway). But I now have achilles pain, and from extensive research on line I'm pretty certain I have achilles tendonitis. I do have tendonitis in several places, so I suppose in keeping with that, but I won't go the Dr's with it, I cannot have surgery on my legs feet etc, certainly not unless it was a very last option.

Hi Wontgivein, I've had the same thing too. I've always had issues with a variety of things and like most with FM have gone through a variety of diagnosis. I suspect the Achilles tendonitis is an early symptom of FM. I have FM and the worst about it is the pain in my tendons, lowerback and hips. I have all the symptoms but during the day, these are the ones that affect my mobility the most.. My right ankle swells more than my left as does my right knee. Be careful because the tendonitis can affect the muscles around the knee so there is more strain on the outer muscles and your knee may buckle from time to time. when I have been on the meds the tendonitis tends to ease up a great deal but I've had severe side effects with the conventional pharmaceutical therapies. I've got one left - LDN which I will be starting next week. I hope that things get better for you!!!!

I had plantar fasciitis which I thought may be due to pernicious anaemia causing damage to my feet but ive just been diagnosed with Fibro and now also have developed Achilles tendinitis. I didn't realise it's probably fibro linked until I read some posts about it. My GP didn't mention it could be fibro related when he diagnosed Achilles tendinitis i was given tubigrip naproxen and a physio referral.

Hi,

Agree with poppy 0-3

I think the hard lump you refer to is possibly the attachment of the ligament to the bone.

Applying gentle pressure and palpating with your thump will help soften ligament and increase blood supply...
