So I saw my consultant yesterday who has given me the diagnosis of fibromyalgia and chronic pain. She basically said whilst smiling there is no cure and I don’t need to see you anymore but you will be under the pain clinic now. So basically off you go and get on with it. GREAT!!!! Thanks for that I feel absolutely lost and very emotional. I have been taking Duloxetine 30mg for 4 weeks now it worked for the first 2 but I feel it’s not helping now. So is this it then?
Is fibro and chronic pain different? Sorry to be so negative this morning.

healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., No your not being negative at all , think professionals could be alittle softer around the edges when speaking to patients, yes she has passed you to the pain clinic but she could have said I wish you well with your appointments or something to that effect, I am on duloxtene 60mg, it keeps my anxiety /depression away supposed to help with pain but I didn’t really notice much of a change on that side of things, I have codiene I can use on days where I cannot rest as much ie. when I have the grandchildren come over. Most of the time the pain side is helped by pacing when I can, rest at night , heat helps, rub on gel, hot water bottles, Epsom salts baths. Good that we can have a chat here, it does help I find, I’ve posted a link above if you would like to lock your posts, does give you more privacy and not open to any other site engines on the internet. Let us know how you get on at the pain clinic, something I was not referred too, hope it goes well xx
Hi Yasmintina, thank you for your reply. I think professionals think because it’s not life threatening they don’t need to softer when speaking to patients. I think I might need a higher dose of Duloxetine so will go back to the GP. Is Fibromyalgia and chronic pain the same thing? If you know?
