FM/CFS Clinics.: Hi I was woundering if... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
FM/CFS Clinics.
Hi Chris, Went on the link but am a bit confused. mojoman said it was terrible and Mdaisy saying it was good, i think they went as NHS not private, which mojoman seemed to think made a difference. The one in Bristol is the one i would have to go private as our son & daughter-in-law live there and i am in Devon. London would be to far. Although i don't know if the treatment would be any different wether you went privare or NHS. Thanks for your help. I'm so glad we have this site to go to as everyone so friendly and helpfull. soft hugs xx
is there a clinic in Bristol, does anyone know address and how to be referee ...
thank you Christine x
I am due to go to the guys hospital fibro clinic on wednesday. I was refered by my g.p. I took all the details down the sugery, and asked him. I am hoping to get some help, as i do not get any from my g.p.
Hi crackersgem Thanks for your reply, I hope your app. at guys go well, let us know how it all goes. I have printed off info. and will take it to Dr's and see what he says. I think though Bristol only sees private patients as in there info they sent me was a price list. good luck for wednesday soft hugs xx
Hi ellen sorry only just seen your blogg, but have been out today. Thanks for link, have had a look and will give them a ring. The reason i said Bristol was because our son,daughter-in-law & grandaughter live there, but its easy to get from there to Bath. Soft hugs xx
Hi Scrumie, thanks for your message, i will let you know how it goes. My friend is coming with me as i live a long way from london, and am dreading the journey. I will be suffering for days after, but hopefully, it will be worth it. Maybe you could get to london, as it is supposed to be the best. I had to wait quite a long time to get an appointment, and i think it will just be a one off. I am hoping they can give me help, then after that my g.p. will know what to give, and do. Gentle hugs to you, take care, and good luck. xx
The Guys clinic is NHS. Prof Davies, who helped set-up and used to head the Guys Clinic, also has private clinics in London and Bristol. I used to see him privately and found it very helpful. If you have a GP that will work with Prof Davies (or any consultant) even though you see the consultant privately, it works best. If nothing else, private prescriptions can get very expensive.
Hi.
I was referred to the Rheumatology Team at St, Barts Hospital by my G.P and there is an excellent Doctor Kristin Ullrich who agreed that I did have Fibro and sent me to the team at St. Thomas' where they agreed that I would benefit as a residential patient at their Pain Management Centre.
Although it didn't focus specifically on Fibromyalgia, it was about chronic pain, and I think it was one of the best things that my GP has done for me.
It was not private, but I do know that private patients are referred there as they have an excellent success rate, in giving people the tools to manage their pain and daily life in a different way.
Hope this helps,
Gentle hugs xxxx
