Hi thereI also had my pip review yesterday. To be honest I was dreading just like last time. It has been delayed because of covid etc. I was told it wouldn't be done now until next April.
I had returned my assessment forms last September 2023. Anyway. My assessment lasted for 1 hour and 20 mins. As well as sending evidence to support my assessment forms, they also sent a request to my GP, for a report on 9th October this year.
I have to say, I was on my own during the call this time, as my husband was away. Last time he wasn't allowed to speak on my behalf. Only to confirm his name. When I wasn't sure about something as we had the loud speaker on he just prompted me by writing on the note pad.
Anyway I have to say, the lady I had yesterday was absolutely very good. She explained everything that we were going to be going through. She didn't rush me and if I couldn't remember something or a word she waited for me and said it's OK just take your time.
Last time was exactly the same. At the end she asked if I wanted to add anything else or was there any questions that I wanted to ask or put further information forward.
Everybody seems to have different experiences.
I had a similar experience as you with a face to face meeting back in the early 90's. My mam was in the room with me but had to sit away from me. I was asked a question about something and I didn't know so I asked my mam. Well the woman tore a strip off me. I was 22 at the time. Let me tell you my mam gave her what for and told her not to speak to me like that and treat me with respect. She did apologise.
I hope all went well and that we both hear very soon. Soft hugs xxx
