Hello Fybro family, I hope everyone is keeping as well as they can.
I'd be grateful for any advice please on what I can eat at the moment...
I'm in a flareup of Diverticular Disease & need to be on a low residue diet, so no wholemeal carbs.
Problem is, I go into flareup with the fybro when I eat white carbs. Mashed potato & porridge seem to be OK, but other than that, fybro flare up which is where I'm at today...
Sending gentle hugs🤗

hi, from what I remember from my Dad, he use to go on liquid diets, clear broths I recall, until the inflammation eased off, then he would slowly go back to solids , I feel for you, as I know it can be painful.
Keep your clear liquids up, and stay hydrated, this is a pure guess, but would Colpamin help??, I take it for bad ibs-d, it is peppermint, so I don’t know if it would help.
It's not so much the pain but the lack of my usual diet, I'm finding I'm so tired(fybro obviously adding to it)
Really bad timing as in the middle of packing up my flat for moving- friends are helping, doing overtime at my part time job as boss is on annual leave, now got the "2 week fast track" thing cos of bleeding & just found out my Dad who has terminal cancer has weeks left & won't see Christmas.
It's all getting too much now & just want to stop & cry (so sorry, this has turned into a rant rather than a reply).
Think I will stop now, if someone told me all of that I'd say rest & self care.
Good at handing out advice, not so good at heeding my own...
Awww bless you hun, rant all you like, I am so sorry to hear about your dad, I know how hard it is, could be all this stress kicking it off, I would say try and rest, but you can’t, sending you oodles of healing hugs and energy, take care sweetie 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I am so sorry to hear about the tough times your going through. I wish I could give you advice on what to eat but unfortunately I don't know anything about diverticular disease.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. My dad died a few years ago of cancer, and it was such a difficult thing to go through. And, I know it can get hard to find the motivation to do things when you feel down. And, sometimes when we are worrying about/caring for someone else we can forget to take care of ourselves. But, please, please find time to rest and take care of yourself.
I know I found it hard to even consider my own needs, when I was busy worrying about my dad. But, neglecting myself didn't help me in the long run.
So sorry to hear your having a real tough time Dreamgreen,
Is your Dad near by as in you can see him as often as you can,Thoughts are with you at this sad and difficult time,
Have you tried some vegetable juice and gravy granules? Not great I know but easy on the digestion,I love the juice of cooked carrots and the gravy, You'll get some of your 5a day at least, soup (my fave is tomato) and smoothies made with apple juice? How are you with small amounts of fruit? Other than bananas? some strawberries with a light dusting of icing sugar?
You do need to rest and try for some time-out (Haha not on the naughty step)
I hope you can recover soon and get some strength back
