Hi everyone. I have had a melt down today. I feel as though all my dignity has been taken away this past 4 months. I have gone from being a full time support worker looking after adults with learning disabilities to not being able to look after myself or being able to walk very far. I went to my GP in November last year with pain in my left thigh blood tests and xrays say there is nothing wrong. My GP has now refered me to the orthpeadics but can't be seen until the 1st July due to covid. Has anyone else seen orthopeadics for diagnosis of fybro.

ORTHOPEADICS AND FYBRO
Orthopedics is for all to do with the bones and muscles. I was diagnosed under rheumatology. I guess it's a good route to go down to ensure there isn't anything fixable wrong with bones an muscles? You need to rule out other causes before fibro, it's always a long journey sadly.
Hi, have you been diagnosed with fibromyalgia or are you still going through the diagnostic process? Your gp may be referring you to orthopaedics to rule out other possible causes of your pain.
Also, pain in just one area of the body is not normally diagnosed as fibro - criteria for Fibromyalgia is widespread pain affecting all areas of the body xxx
I have seen Ortho in past but also have osteoarthritis and tendinitis along with Fibro. If x rays are normal think maybe Rheumatoid ref would be better. You can’t always assume everything is the FM. I was getting all sorts of weird things few years back and turned out I had ulcers from NSAIDs with Central nervous crisis from pain meds and had started menopause.
I’m lucky found a fab GP then as the first few were awful.
It is hard when things change so much I was working full time in healthcare and now struggling to do 22 hr week. Lucky I’m working at home during lockdown so been bit easier apart from stress.
I hope you can get sorted out once seen but ask to be referred on if Ortho can’t help.
Good luck
See if you can get to a physio, perhaps by video. My best starting point help has come from physios.
