Hi everyone, after several visits to the doctors and not getting anywhere i found on my doctors notes ( that I’ve recently aquired) that the pain ive been suffering with but not treated for is Sacroiliac Joint Disorder. It seems to have been flaring up every few months since 2018 but recently more and more and it can last from 5 - 10 days .
Everytime ive been to doctors they keep sending me for scans and putting it down to kidney stones. If i hadnt got my notes i wouldnt have known. Does anybody else with fibro suffer with this
Thanks for letting me off load x

Hi Bailey, I'm sorry to hear you're suffering with this. I was diagnosed with deterioration of the sacral iliac joint years ago after an MRI scan and have been taking co-codamol for the pain ever since as I was told there's nothing they can do about it. Just like with the fibromyalgia, the pain flares up every time I somehow over-do things and takes several days to calm down to base level pain. Over the years I have found the best way to manage this is to avoid certain things/movements such as lifting anything heavy or even mopping the floors in a particular way - for me, anything that causes me to twist, makes it much much worse. Maybe speak to your GP about a physio referral or just find yourself some exercises to build up your core muscles as this helps to take the strain off of your back. Good luck!
Hi, when you have a flare does it feel like its the whole way round. Ive noticed things i do set it off so gradually learning what i can and cant do . Im going to ask to see a physiotherapist to maybe help . Thanks for your reply x
Hi Bailey13 Yes I have had this for 20+ years. I get full relief from a maneuver my chiropractor uses. He has been a God send. This is a very painful condition if not treated properly.
I have the same problem every so often, so I have a good osteopath, who can fix it, although the most effective method I have found long term is to practice pilates to strengthen the core,so that the problem does not keep reoccurring.
