Rant time

Hey, I hope you're all keeping okUnfortunately, I've been hit by the doctors strike regarding my impending surgery to rectify the macular hole in my left eye.

My consultant appointment has been cancelled on 15th August.

However the ultrasound appointment, scheduled the same day is still going ahead so far🤞 (different issue)!

Prior employment was terminated at probation end as I wasn't able to work effectively.

There's possibly an opening to go for constructive dismissal, but I really don't feel up to it or have the energy either.

I've contacted the consultant's secretary and told her the situation. It's stopping me from applying for anything else cos I can't read properly - my vision keeps 'swimming' now and I can't focus to read.

Plus, no one would entertain even inviting me for an interview with medical appointments, surgery, and recovery period hanging over my head.

Consultant not in today, so his secretary can't rearrange without speaking to him.

So no further forward.

Have stressed to her it's affecting my fibromyalgia by stressing me - losing my job, unable to apply, no income, and living on the remainder of divorce settlement.

Not to mention, it's now taking me into Christmas!

Sorry for the long rant but it's making me so frustrated 😠 😡

Rant away as sometimes we just have to vent. You're not even ranting as you are just being honest how it is. It's an awful feeling when an operation is cancelled especially when it affects your life as much as it is. Years back I had a major operation cancelled twice and you feel really let down as emotionally you have built yourself up for it.Let's hope you get a new date very soon. Hope the ultrasound goes well and gives you some answers.

Rant away poor you , a lot of operations still being cancelled in our area of Suffolk and a back log from Covid period still. I am hoping you can apply for benefits as you sound like you’ve tried your best until ill health made you stop🙁 I hope the secretary pushes forward your request and has taken on board your current situation xx

definitely rant away!! Well needed at times and good for stress relief. Hope it all get rearranged soon and helps. 🙏
