Foot is on fire sorta kinda?

Hey all, we haven't really had a summer here which kiwis hate but I've loved it - not too much sun means I can be outside with my little girl 😊 I'd just like to ask if anyone else has weird symptoms with their feet? The last few days the sole of my left foot has this weird sensation, like I've walked over some really hot sand and burnt them... it's non stop. Yet at night I go to bed and I have to have a hot water bottle on my feet cos they feel too cold and it stops me sleeping, even though it's been 25degrees at night! I've had the cold feet thing as long as I can remember, but this other burning sensation is new. Is it just par for the course with fibro? Thanks for anyone's advice 😊

Trikki is the ants under your skin like just on your feet? Or all over your body? Cos I often get this sensation like I'm being bitten by ants or something on various parts of my body but never put it down to fibro! And it's a weird sensation, just under my skin...almost itchy but not like an itch you can scratch? My whole body often feels so alien to me now.

The ants sensation varies. Sometimes from knees down or sometimes just my feet. Same with hands, always tingling and painful....Even as a child I remember having a weird feeling on the soles of my feet like I was walking on marbles!!!!

Good morning,Leemaree44, I often have problems with my feet sometimes I am almost in tears standing up, and am wakened at night with pain around my ankles, not exactly the same but yes problem with my feet as well , we are you since its so warm , im in Scotland it rather wet weather conditions here today about 9 degrees, but I won't be moving out the house today anyway, I only get out if I have to go to the doctor or something like that especially in the cold weather, I get out more when the weather improves, on my mobile scooter.

Wishing you a pain free as possible day

I'm in New Zealand 😁 Supposedly just finished summer here but we really never got one - not like we usually do. Do you think the burning sensation will come and go? Or is it just another thing I'm stuck with now?

Hi Leemaree44

I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution to this issue. According to *WebMD it could be caused by nerve damage? I have pasted you an excerpt below:

*A burning sensation in your feet may be caused by nerve damage in the legs, also called neuropathy. Although many medical conditions can cause burning feet, diabetes is the most common. Most burning feet treatments focus on preventing further nerve damage and reducing pain.5 Aug 2016

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi Ken, i have been wondering about peripheral neuropathy myself - but I'm so sick of going to my gp and just being told 'that shouldn't be happening' or 'it's just one of things you'll have to live with' - and living in a small town I don't have a lot of GP's available to see. And this burning sensation is really annoying!! I didn't realise FM can cause nerve damage?!
