morning everyone, can I ask does anyone get bother with their skin. I get what I call a fibro rash on my chest sometimes but it usually goes after a few days. Now I have eczema like symptoms on my face,it’s awful. Steroid cream helps but it just keeps coming back especially on my eyelids. I know I can’t continue with the steroid cream does anyone have any tips.?

have you tried Centrben emollient, they do creams and emollient soap, I mix it with vitamin C oil, but not on the eyes, my skin will blister and bleed, but since I have been using centraben, only a few break outs. Use it sparingly on the eyes, a little at a time, but do this often until it calms down.

your welcome, I hope it helps, it’s sore around the eye part, it may sting at first. Good luck.

I get rashes too, plus really itchy skin on occasions. The rashes can appear anywhere so can the itchy patches. The dermatologist gave me some cream and diagnosed it as rosacea, I'm not convinced and feel that it's one of those annoying extras fibro throws at us. Do you get dry eye too?

yes a bit, I’ve had loads of dry patches that pop up and generally go when I keep moisturising them but this on my face is terrible it just keeps coming back. Doc says it’s stress eczema! Fibro the gift that keeps on giving. 🥲

Mine was so strange, literally overnight my lower tummy, upper thighs broke out in psoriasis and other areas of eczema at the same time on my chest, inside elbows etc. GP gave me usual lotions & potions but I'm thinking maybe Trimovate Cream would be worth a try for your face?

the cream i have from doc is the same family of drugs as trimovate it works and then comes back a few days later.

Aw, so annoying! Always seems worse when it's your face doesn't it. Maybe ask to see a Dermatologist

Hi, I get Rosacea around eyes and eyelids know since having FMA. Also very dry eyes. I use dry eye gel or drops at night which help and I've also found that LA ROCHE-POSAY daily repair eye moisturiser have given me comfort and less irritation. It's not cheap BUT a little goes along way plus given all the other lotions I've tried I would of saved money buying this first! It's anti irritation, anti redness and anti itching.

I have had a look I can’t seem to see one which says specifically for eyes. Help

Hi, sorry for late reply.... It's called La Roche-Posey Dermallergo Soothing Eye Cream 20 ml and it's £19. Boots on line have it and have reviews for you to look at. It's so nice. By Far the best I've found so far. Xx

I use banana. Get a banana and blend it. Put it in a glass jar with lid on leave it for at least a week. It will turn brown and black. Dab the liquid that is released from it onto the rash. Is looks odd and smells like vinegar but after a week of applying 3 times a day you will notice a change and 2 weeks mine is almost gone.

seems a bit strange right enough but I’m getting to the stage where I’ll try anything. Thank you.

Hi! I suffer so badly on my eyelids with eczema/dermatitis. They swell up, then dry up and crack. Eczema is incredibly frustrating at the best of times but on your face and eyes is another level. I'm often prescribed a steroid ointment but like yourself I'm reluctant to keep using a steroid ointment/cream on such thin skin. I've found that cutting some things out has helped a lot though. A few are dry shampoo, eyeshadows with sparkles in it, fine setting powders, anything with a scent in it, cotton rounds, and just general dust. It's been a bit of trial and error of figuring out what irritates it, but it's really improved how often I have it. Reducing it to maybe once every couple of months and not as severe, rather than it being there constantly even with steroid creams.

I'm yet to find a general cream that helps that isn't a steroid though so I'll be checking the thread for recommendations too 😊

I hope you manage to find something that gives you a bit of relief! ❤️

thank you for your reply, I use very simple make up and as little as possible I never use anything with perfume added. I use the new e45 face moisturiser as I don’t want skin to dry up any more. I too have never found any non steroid that helps. 🥲

Have you seen a dermatologist to properly diagnose what caused the eczema?

no.

I think that may be the best option if you want to find something that helps it.

I use Diprobase - Advanced Eczema Cream. I get it on prescription from my GP. It is the only cream that makes my very dry skin better rather than worse. It is unscented and no steroids.
