Hi Millie I had the same problem I would ask your GP to refer you to the hospital as I was given MRI scan and have recently had a rotary cuff operation which I am still recovering from don’t think dr’s should put everything down to Fibromyalgia unfortunately that seems to happen , take care I hope you can get this sorted x

Hi there Millie, I'm with you on the weighted blanket. I can not even stand an heavy duvet on me. To be honest I can't bear anything heavy on me clothes includes way too painful.

I suffer horrendously with shoulder and rib pain. At its worse I can't breath. It can go on for weeks. I was given one great exercise to do from a physio and it's really helped me.

You can do this anywhere sitting standing. Place your arms around yourself. Like your giving yourself a hug. One arm gripping the other. Then very slowly turn to the left. Holding Your arms in this way stops you turning too much. Then turn back to the front stop count 5 now turn to the right. Turn back to the front.

I Always hold each position for a count of 5. Start very slowly say 2/3 turns each way maybe three times a day and work up to doing more gradually.

It helps loosen the tight muscles in between the shoulder blades that in my case become very tight, ridged and painful.

Morning , I would ask for a scan /X-ray as it’s been awhile since you last had one, then I think you can move forward with your doctor in treating this awful pain, I dont like weight of any kind since having fibro, was just saying to a member this morning don’t know what I’d do without my daily warm soak in bath, I am saving for a hydro bath as I think would really help with the constant aches of my fibro . Hope you get some help very soon xx

Ask your doctor for an MRI as I had shoulder hip and ankle pain and I was diagnosed with bursitis. this is a completely separate issue to fibromyalgia but a lot of people appear to have bursitis that have fibromyalgia.

I have Arthritis in one shoulder but getting pain in both now. Can't get comfy in bed as pain so intense. I find heat can be helpful sometimes. I have steroid jabs in mine so maybe get x rays to see if bone or nerve pains.

I put my shoulder pain down to fibro and as a result left it too long before I had X-ray done. It was calcific tendinitis. Trouble is it’s easy for everyone to put aches and pains at fibro’s door. Now I adopt the attitude fibro is innocent until proven guilty 😁

Hi,about a year ago I was having problems with my right arm and the pain was constant like a weight attached to it,I remember being in the doctors half asleep saying please help me,the pain doesn't go away and ive been awake two days, didn't even look at my arm and gave me some kind of sleeping tablet:( awful

I ended up calling the doctor one day and I said I need help as this can't be just fibro in this shoulder, some times I can't lift it or move it back, she agreed to send me for an x-ray,results in five weeks ,then lockdown hit and when I finally got a result the note on my file was no further action:( it's calmed down a lot but still ive lost confidence in my strength:/

Maybe nothing crops up but at least other things can be ruled out, just don't suffer in silence I say :( x

My daughter has a weighted blanket and she says it does take a while to get used to, although it did make her feel calm and relaxed straight away so that she slept well. she says you could try just putting it on your legs or up to your knees. You do have to make sure you get the right weighted blanket for your weight. I am going to try it for myself because I have had a few nights where I just cannot get comfortable, feel really restless and have to keep moving my legs and I'm in pain so then I am not sleeping! I'll let you know how I get on - I'm really worried I shall feel too hot!
