Hi all, had anyone experienced large weight loss with fibro? I can't attribute it to my medication as it started before i was taking the duloxetine.I've now lost around 1.5st in last 6 months. I'm eating as much as ever if not more. It's got to point my wife has been asked on s couple occasions if I'm ok as i look unwell as so thin compared to before.
Just wondering if this is common or if i should be pestering the doctor once again for something new?

Hi, I would suggest you have a word with your GP about the weight loss. I have not heard weight loss to be associated with fibro. For many it seems to be the opposite. So if your diet and exercise regime has not changed I can't honestly see why you should be losing weight.
Maybe get your thyroid checked. I found I gained weight theough fibro but people differ. I hope you get to the bottom of it but definitely speak to gp if weightloss is that noticeable no harm in it that is what they are there for good luck
Hello ,I agree with Dizzy if the weight loss had started before you were on the meds I think pursue things with the doc , have they done any recent blood tests ? That’s where they normally start. I hope the doctor can give you some answers soon, let us know how you get along , in the meantime take care.
Nothing in last couple months, but they tested thyroid etc before that when they were trying to diagnose everything and all that came back normal. I'll phone tomorrow when they open again and see where i get. Thanks
Hi ... I had the same problem, I lost nearly 2 stone for no obvious reason. I'd go to your gp and it maybe that you need some blood tests done? I think mine was the stress of it all as it is life changing. Hope all turns out well.
Well had an appointment at the pain clinic, and the consultant was trying to reassure me that the weight loss could be down to stress. However, then told me that she wanted to send me for an MRI of my spine, which again said was for my reassurance, but im not sure now whether i should be worried or reassured haha
