after a year on the waiting list I am now under the care of living with pain team. I’ve seen a physio and occupational therapist. I feel listened too and understood and finally getting some help to manage fibromyalgia and arthritis pain . Would highly recommend others to seek this option

Great that you are getting some help and support. It makes such a difference xxx
So pleased for you as even being list33n3d to and taken seriously can make sucn a difference. I was referred to the pain team the Octobrr before last. Eventually had a zoom call beginning of March and promised Mindfulness, hydrotherapy, acupuncture with tens and physio and so far nothing has happened. The backlog with Covid is the excuse Let's put it one way I'm not holding my breath.
It unfortunately seems to be the case that facilities vary from area to area. Some areas around here have a waiting list of 18 months just for the initial zoom call.x
Pleased you are getting some help.
Oh, that's sooo good! Best way to go into a new year; with understanding, compassionate AND knowledgeable professionals to guide you along and improve QOL. So happy for you. Happy Holidays and the all the best for 2023.
Glad that you are getting the help and its making things much better.
I have been referred to the pain clinic where i am but apart from a couple letters saying im on a list, no word of when it might progress.
Hi, glad to hear that things are looking up for you and you have found something that helps. Constant pain really diminishes life. I live in Dorset and when I was referred to the pain clinic I was told that the fact that I had fibromyalgia meant I couldn’t attend. You can imagine how that made me feel. It really is a postcode lottery so I am glad that you live somewhere where they will help you and hope you can go forward feeling better more confident about the future.
oh how strange I’m sorry to hear that. The team is called living with pain and seems to cover all aspects of pain . Could you try a new referral? I initially I found help myself through The Pain Toolkit which has some good online resources which might be useful for you. Good luck and don’t give up hope
Thanks for the great advice, I’m not so bothered by the pain these days now I have come to accept how important pacing is, but I am still constantly fatigued and have real difficulty concentrating. Take care.
