I think I caught a bug, possibly flu or a cold, and I have been recently diagnosed with fibro. The flu symptoms started yesterday during the night and I woke up with a horrible headache. Now I am experiencing an awful and extremely intense musculoeskeletal pain all over my body, particulary back, neck, knees and TMJ. Any suggestion in order to improve the pain or recover faster? I am taking paracetamol and ibuprofen atm and they don t help significantly and the pain is driving me crazy.11🤕
Thank you in advance

And every thing hurts especially my head & TMJ , back & legs. Turns out I’ve got covid . Maybe do a test and check yourself. I’ve been taking paracetamol with hot water bottle for my back. Hope you feel better soon x
Thank you very much for your kind reply. Unfortunately it seems to be covid. I did a LFT earlierier this morning and the T line is slightly visible. My parents spent the last few days with me and my husband and now I'm terribly concerned about them. This is my first Covid since the pandemic started. I am really frustrated☹️
bless you just try and rest and keep up the fluids. I know how you feel about your parents, I’m with my mum every day but so far she’s ok . Take care x
I hope your are feeling alittle better and your parents did not catch the Covid, I managed too get too July of this year not catching it and my husband brought Covid home from his brothers wedding I was just getting over a chest infection so felt pretty poorly and didn’t see Summer really until mid August , had my booster a couple of weeks ago and now they are saying about the flu jab so that’s next on my list , take care x
Hi, I am just getting over flu now and it absolutely floored me! I was convinced it was covid but done 2 tests both negative. Anyway I ditched my codeine and amytriptaline as they were making my headache worse and just stuck with paracetamol every 4 hours to keep it in my system. Plenty fluids and rest and hot water bottles for the awful pains. At 1 point I thought it was never gonna get better but I'm finally on the mend. Hope you feel better soon 🤞take care x
Thank you very much. It is covid, I am afraid. LFT is positive today. Just took my paracetamol and my hot water bottle which is my best friend because, as many of us Fibro people, I have also IBS and SIBO. I just hope I didn't pass the frigging virus to my parents. 🤞🤞🤞
I must admit I'm far from convinced that the lateral flows are reliable anymore. I had covid (tested positive several times over 11 days) back in April. In July, partner caught it for first time and I had a repeat of my previous symptoms, less severe but just the same pattern, and no positive test. At the moment, I am symptomatic again, but still no positive test. I use aspirin as can't tolerate paracetamol, cold flannel on the head and hot water bottles elsewhere. Fluids and rest, extra vit C and D, zinc. Glad you are on the mend, as am I.
I have had covid twice before and was not as poorly as I have been with this. My husband tested positive with much milder symptoms so maybe the tests aren't so reliable after all. A bit scary considering they are what the health professionals are relying on before each shift!! Take care
My LFT started to be positive today (very mild in the morning and very clear now). Yestarday I was poorly and in severe pain but no fever yet and the LFT were negative. For some reason I feel better when I have fever. Before the temp starts rising and it is below 37C is the worst moment for me. X
I remember reading that we should keep really warm - clothes, drinks etc, until/unless feverish. Hope you feel better soon and that family escape it. I've been 'odd' - more odd than usual anyway, or definitely ill, for 10 days and partner hasn't taken it from me (yet), even with me making the food and living as usual, so they may well avoid it.
Thank you for your kind words. Yes I live in England and my husband is with me for any help and groceries. He is fine atm fortunately and we are trying to reduce contacts betwen us as much as possible. I am constantly wearing 2 masks at home and gloves. After I took paracet I am feeling a little bit better and I managed to move around the house a bit. 💙
Hi, ive been suffering with bad neck & legs for weeks now.....on anti-depressants, cocodomal, amytriptalline, nurofen, cuprofen. Im on it all and this time it doesn't seem like anything works! Sometimes it takes edge off but pain is not going this time. I wish you a speedy recovery & if you find anything different that helps please let me know as im not sleeping and extreme tiredness & energy is an understatement 😪
