💡 🌞 🔦 🕯 🌟 💨 🌧 ❄️ 🌊 🙏 💗 🌈

When lights shine bright, we begin to smile.

We can stop and think of days gone by, for a while.

Their memories glow through the warmth of the sun.

The happy, the sad and the downright fun.

When lights shine bright, we can weather any storm.

We know that raindrops are kisses in a different form.

The wind may blow wildly and spread the love that we know.

Yet the brisk dropping snow brings a glistening glow.

When lights shine bright there’s a twinkle in every eye.

That reflects a fondness through every star in the sky.

The moon lights the sky like a beacon from above.

It’s a light shining bright from all that we have loved.

So let the lights shine, let the lights shine bright.

Say a prayer for those we love and those that lost their fight.

Don’t live your life in the dark, it wouldn’t be right.

So let the lights shine, let the lights shine bright.

Prayers are a comfort and give us a beautiful right.

That’s when we will see how all lights shine bright.

We know that our family and friends are there in our hour of need.

We’re lucky we have them, that we’re loved, and loved we are indeed.

Thank you. I wrote it for my Uncle and Aunts, as I had made them a Memories Christmas candle. Sadly my Dad passed away November 2019 and my Mum July 2020. My mum passed away during covid lockdown in. Palliative care and I couldn’t visit her for her last two months, so she passed without loved ones to comfort her. So I wanted to share with people my thoughts. I also felt that many of us suffer so much and especially during the winter that my poem may brighten their day ( no pun intended) 💗🌈
