Yes I posted the other day around Mental Health but today is World Suicide Prevention Day.
We can all make a difference and it's amazing that just by talking to someone can make a difference of life or death.
I want to remember today those who sadly lost the battle and committed suicide and to their family and friends who live with it daily. I also want to think of those with failed suicide attempts and are going through dark times. The families and friends of those who are going through tough times with a loved one.
I can relate to this as in our family as a member of our family tried to commit suicide on several times as suffered with mental health issues however due to services failing them they felt they had no other option. I have had to intervene on a number of the suicide attempts and it's heart breaking!
Anyway thanks for reading
Pain free wishes and positive vibes sent to all!

Thanks for your post Danny.
Mental health does not have the stigma it used to have but it is still difficult for people to open up.
My heart goes out to all that are affected by suicide.
I believe the stigma has improved but we still have a long way to go. I did a survey about 6 months ago and 83% of workers felt they couldn't tell there employer that they was ill from mental health and gave another excuse.
We have to keep chipping away but I do agree we have come a long way.
I think it's probably in every family and we are all just one side of mental illness it can and does happen to every family more or less .I can understand why they don't want to enlighten employers ,I wouldn't if I was mentally unwell .😇
My hub works in mental health and believe you me there is still stigma and shame attached to it. I just feel deep sorrow for the poor people who do it and their families . People get so desperate they don't which way to turn . 😇
Yeah sign posting isn't very good and once sign posted I don't think we respond adequately as mental health services. I want to add those who are working mental health do a great job, we just need to change the management of services and additional training for anyone in the healthcare profession i.e. How we can adapt by booking in A&E there are many more too.
Danny1990 I too have had to intervene with a very close family member so i can empathise. I wish you and your family well.

Thank you for posting this Danny. The more awareness, the more the stigma will be reduced.
I can relate to mental health services letting down your family member. It has happened to me several times. You are released from hospital having attempted suicide, and are not contacted by the crisis people, as promised.
I have also experienced going to a&e feeling suicidal, only to be told by triage to wait in an open waiting room, on my own, for 4 hours. Reaching out for help to try and keep safe does not work in our mental health services.
Hi thanks for commenting and sharing your own personal experience. I hope you are well. I'm really sorry to hear at the hospital you received that appalling treatment especially when you was at your most vulnerable. Hopefully we can shape our services in the future
I worked at a hospital. Unfortunately, I told someone about my depression and anxiety. The environment afterward was palpable. Next time, I wouldn't tell anyone. Sad that it's like that 😯
Thanks for sharing and I'm so sorry you was treated this way. You can confide in the Samaritans in times of crisis. I'm really concerned on how you was treated too
Thanks everyone for commenting and getting involved for your input and sharing your personal experiences. Just by doing this we are highlighting it. I hope you all have a great day. Pain free wishes and positive vibes sent your way
