I don't have much spare cash so decided to make a card for my other half. I also did a covered matchbox with a lock and key as a "Key to my Heart". I'm going to raid the Rolo's later so I can wrap the last one. Wishing all a lovely day and for those single people remember there's lots of love on this site for you xxx

And made with love with your own fair hands.
Its not the cost of the pressie that counts it what it means and represents that gives it value.

How's the rest of your day been Crusree? x
Ok thanks for asking.Been a bit of a lazy day and not done a huge amount. I am going thru a bit of a sick patch at the moment ,got an infection and kidneys playing up so trying to get myself back to feeling better in time for the weekend. My hubby has a special birthday on Monday so we are looking to go out somewhere special on saturday night to celebrate so I want to feel well enough to go.
Hope your valentines day went well too.
We have been together 30 years but theres nothing like a bit of soppiness every so often. We just try not to get too caught up,in the commercialism of it all either - it just spoils it.
Enjoy the rest of the evening together.

Ouch. Hope you're not getting loads of lower back pain. I guess your having to drink lots of clear fluids. Good idea saving your energy for your husbands milestone birthday. My other half brought love heart candles and chocolates for me. We had quiet evening chatting, catching up on the week. He's got his son from his previous marriage at his mum's for half term so I hadnt seen him for 3 days.
Havent got the back pain fortunately, but feel, very nauseous and sick.Drinking water and squash by the gallon.
Some Days even having trouble keeping water down but ok today.
Candles and choccies were a nice thought and spending the evening together catching up after a few days apart must have been lovely too.
Sometimes these boys can still surprise us.We have to give them credit - bless them.
Take care.

Beautiful thought darling xx
Ah how lovely. It is so important to show our gratitude to those who love and care for us. xxx
He's struggled with bad PTSD at the same time as washing, dressing and feeding me on bad days. He bought me a Sizzex die cutting and embossing machine so I can make cards to keep my hands going. I love to craft and make hats, Spats, Collars and cuffs, corsets and gloves, faux medals, pendant watches based on Alice in Wonderland, evening bags, cosplay outfits and much more. It keeps my mind occupied and reduces my pain. Plus I love dressing in Victorian clothing. I trained as a jeweler, engineer and fashion pattern designer as well as doing garment construction so when my hands were affected it broke my heart. I'm slowly finding new ways to do things, although as we all know something that took us 10 mins takes us all day now. Thank goodness for pacing π
Hi Sheila-Squirrel What lovely work, your husband must be delighted.
Your creativity shines through, what a useful way to keep that side of you going
.I have bags of wool, cross stitch kits, 4 very large plastic boxes full of cardmaking items, beads, crystals, decoupage glue, papers and boxes to cover, adult colouring books and pencils and much more.
Unfortunately my hands and fingers play up and I can't do it on a regular basis.

He was so suprised. He really appreciated how much effort and energy I had put into creating it and had a little tear in his eye π
That is wonderful my friend, and I am truly delighted to read this
Going through counselling for PTSD has really helped our relationship. We nearly broke up last year after 9 years of being together. He couldn't see he needed help till then. He's getting better at social situations and I at least understand him from what my dad went through after leaving the army.
I think that is truly fantastic that things are working out my friend. I sincerely hope that it continues like this for the both of you. I have a friend with PTSD, and I know how difficult the challenges can be for the both of you.
All my hopes and dreams for you both
Ken
I'm looking at starting a petition to change the schedule for MDMA as it's been shown in to be a very effective treatment for PTSD. In a controlled environment along with talking therapy it's helped within 3 treatments. It's classified as of no medical use even though it has been used medically in the 1912 as a potential blood clotting agent and in the 1920s as a slimming aid. I need to do more research. It would distract me from pain at the same time as doing something positive. I'm a qualified nurse so know my way round a Lancet or BMJ journal.
Hi my friend. I think that would be a brilliant idea to start a petition. The 38 degrees website is a really good tool for this. If you start a petition please feel free to post it on the forum and hopefully get some signatures. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
