Awaiting decision for PIP

Hi everyone

I had my PIP APPEAL by telephone today , it took about an hour , and I had to answer for when my assessment was which was December 2019 ,I answered honestly but was trying to put across how much worse I am now , I had to give up a full time job and then a part time job , and my counsellor (I am extremely lucky to have had her support and input since I appealed or I would have just given in )!

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Just to say if you are bad and need help please don’t give up and ask for support

Happy hump day

Sharon xx

Thanks Ajay575 this was meant to have posted Tuesday but fibromyalgia fog I forgot and did it this morning … Shortly after I posted this I had a phone call from my therapist/counsellor and she was very emotional , she received the outcome before me

I have been awarded both standard rate not enhanced .. BUT I am happy to get that and will change of circumstances when we move house(as we are going to within the next few months )! And they are backdating from the day I applied .. so I am thrilled with that ..

don’t give up 🆙 keep going , ask for help if you need it and ask for referral for specialist advice… mine is more about my DDD -and spinal issues as well as fibromyalgia

Have a good week everyone 🤩

Hello, I hope you are successful with your appeal. You stated you tried to put across how your conditions had worsened since your original PIP assessment. The appeal was not interested in your current conditions only looking at the information and evidence that was available at the time of the original assessment. So I hope the appeal tribunal members have listened to your changed conditions and award you correctly.

Hi thanks No I got 10 points for mobility not sure how many you need for enhanced mobility rate .. but I will be doing a change of circumstances once I have received pip for a couple of months .. I don’t walk anywhere else other than in the house , and to the car… it’s agony always on crutches, but my hands are now getting extremely painful with the pressure ..

Mobility scooter to go to the local shops less than 1/2 mile away I cannot walk round shops so if no access for scooter they lose my custom .

Hello again, you need 12 points for . enhanced in daily living or the mobility elements of PIP. I had standard in both then my mobility worsened so did a change of circumstances after 18 months of previous award. I have 2 mobility scooters 2 class 3 and a boot scooter for shopping trips. I recently did a change of circumstances on my daily living award and because I drive an automatic car and use 2 mobility scooters I had to submit an MR. The HP assumed, presumed that as I drove an automatic car and used 2 scooters I should be able to manage cope doing the PIP descriptors. I won my MR and on enhanced for both categories with an ongoing award.

Thanks Farmerboy I’m hoping I will cope for a couple of months so I get the feedback from orthopaedic consultant for my DDD it’s 10/10 pain as soon as the weight goes on (standing) Sciatica is seriously getting out of control , my meds have been changed and I’m left struggling to cope with the pain …. I’m expecting to to hear that a cage or fusion will be my next surgery …

Not necessarily….. my mum filled in a change of circumstances form and within 2 weeks she received a phone call to ask her a couple of questions, they advised her they would try to deal with her change without re calling her for an assessment and they did, she had no assessment. She received a letter stating they had reviewed the claim and had awarded her the higher rate of mobility. (She was already on the higher rate if care)
