Yes I think most of us have been there got the t shirts etc...Memory test- what ajoke most fibro sufferers has fibro fog, would that issue have scored you enough points? if so go for M.R. these assessors want us to walk away and give in, see if you can find yourself a local Welfare Rights officer and ask for help, my local lady helped me. dont give in hun.
Thank you very much xxx
Sorry what is m.r?
It is Mandatory Reconsideration. Write a letter explaining why they got it wrong, explain why you should have gained points in each area.
Mandatory reconsideration it should be mentioned on your report from dwp that refused you any help. also ask for a copy of your report so that you can challenge anything you disagree with or anything important you feel was missed off (and believe me these assessors are not fully medically qualified and so anything you described or mentioned that they do not know about they will leave it off) It is all a try on to make you go away.
Excellent thank you xx
I agree with Nurse Gladys, you must ask for MR and then, when that fails ('cos they normally do), appeal. Also from now, keep a daily diary, write down what you went to do, what you ended up doing and who had to help you do it. (I know that sounds silly, but if you think about it.....) As an example: You fancied a cup of tea and a biscuit- you were sitting in the front room watching television- so explain what happened- I got up walked in to the kitchen, saw I'd left my plate on the table from my lunch, picked the plate up and put it in the dishwasher, washed my hands, and just looked round the kitchen. I, then, opened the fridge, saw the milk and remembered I was going to make some tea, so, I took the milk from the fridge, and placed it next to the kettle, which I switched on, to boil, took a cup from the cupboard, placed it near the kettle, poured the milk in to the cup, and then put the milk back in the fridge. Got a tea bag from the tea caddy and put it into the cup, and, when the kettle boiled, poured the water into the cup, stirred it round, picked my cup up and went back, to the front room, sat down, and began to drink my tea. Oh damn, I forgot my biscuit.... oh never mind, I can't be bothered now, I'll just have my tea. I hope you enjoyed your cup of tea 'cos you worked flipping hard to get it. So, if you look at the list above, you forgot about your tea, but then seeing the milk reminded you, and you ended up forgetting your biscuit, so, to my mind, you only really remembered about 45% of what you wanted to do. If you had not spotted the milk, you would have probably gone back to the front room with just, a glass of water or squash.
Make sure you contact the FMA UK Benefits Advisor and ask for a copy of the Benefits and Work publication on how to successfully challenge a disability assessment. It is an excellent Guide. Also ask DWP for a full copy of the report. Do not just rely on their letter about the report. The full report will be even worse, I'm afraid. You will also find useful guidance on these websites:
advicenow.org.uk/guides/how...
drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw...
disabledviewuk.com/guide-to...
Remember that even if your MR does not succeed, 3 out of every 4 who continue to a full appeal, win their case.
Thank you xx
