Are people with Fibro, Diverticular Disease, and Arthritis considered as vulnerable? During the first lockdown, I wasn't sure about registering on my local council listing and now I am even more confused. Is anyone able to give me any advice, please? Thanks.

Am I a vulnerable person?
100% in my opinion I think severity and age come into play.on crippling days I've thought this many times.then other times I think I'm borderline. But I put that down to not wanting to admit it I think.its hard for us all but as a man at 43 it can mess with my head.to think of myself as vulnerable.my knew gave way once and I cracked ribs rnd my back and fractured a few on the front.is that vulnerable?! I think so and that was due to a combinationof arthritis and fibromyalgia.
Wow I've had some pain in my life but broken ribs topped the lot.and in a way helped me differentiate between pain that's constant and at times flares or gets less intense to excruciating pain 24 /7 it was torture.i remind myself of that pain on my worst days but yeah I agree we are. Can be in my case haha."denial "
Thanks for getting back to me. Stay safe.
Thanks for responding. I appreciate it. Stay safe..... and take care.
That's just one example of many you could spill a boiling hot pan if yr arm or fingers just go.tendon related or arthritis whatever it maybe. Also brain fog I cannot personally make important decisions on some days for the life of me.then others I'm on top form.horrible feeling in limbo are we this or are we that.we are ill good days bad days a think that's why people who don't understand cannot grasp it.to them people I say go and read up on it.i could go on an on but I shall spare you.😁
Thanks for responding. I appreciate it. Please take care and stay safe.
Do you mean in relation to covid? Our GP notified our local council, it was not something we did ourselves. If you mean in relation to covid this is the government list of those considered clinically extremely vulnerable
hose with the following conditions fall into the clinically extremely vulnerable group:
solid organ transplant recipients
people with specific cancers:
people with cancer who are undergoing active chemotherapy
people with lung cancer who are undergoing radical radiotherapy
people with cancers of the blood or bone marrow such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma who are at any stage of treatment
people having immunotherapy or other continuing antibody treatments for cancer
people having other targeted cancer treatments that can affect the immune system, such as protein kinase inhibitors or PARP inhibitors
people who have had bone marrow or stem cell transplants in the last 6 months or who are still taking immunosuppression drugs
people with severe respiratory conditions including all cystic fibrosis, severe asthma and severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
people with rare diseases that significantly increase the risk of infections (such as severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), homozygous sickle cell)
people on immunosuppression therapies sufficient to significantly increase risk of infection
women who are pregnant with significant heart disease, congenital or acquired
other people who have also been classed as clinically extremely vulnerable, based on clinical judgement and an assessment of their needs. GPs and hospital clinicians have been provided with guidance to support these decision
Hope this helps.

I think it slightly depends on whether you are on high dose of immunosupressants for your arthritis? The other two conditions shouldn't effect your ability to fight of disease?
My mother was told she could stop shielding once she got down to certain amounts of medication for polymyalgia.
Is it rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis, it will make a difference to your level of vulnerability and what meds you are on.
Yes I registered on the first lockdown and was told straight away to start shielding and was registered on the supermarket delivery lists , I have like you fibro arthritis osteoporosis osteoarthritis also suffer from copd ,cad , mental health issues . But yes you should definitely register hun
