Can I get a Welfare Rights Person?

I have a Tribunal coming up for ESA - has anyone managed to get a Welfare Rights Person to support them?

rihgt mines coming up too.and c.a.b are run of there feet so cant help, independent living centre can help us but cant attend one.so all they can do is prepare us and guide us through the appeal.i dunno about welfare rights although im sure they can attend.

good luck.

The Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB) has a wealth of information regarding ESA tribunals.

Also the Benefits And Work site have an article explaining how you should tackle an ESA tribunal.

Click on this link for more info (If the info doesn't show you will have to register on this site, it's well worth doing this. They have so much helpful info and advice.)

Which makes me wonder if you do not have the right to ask for your tribunal to be postponed until a representative from the CAB can attend with you. Just a thought. Perhaps ask the CAB about this. I would not go into a tribunal with their help because if you look at the numbers most of the cases where CAB are representative are having a much higher success rate then those where the complainent is on his/her own representing themselves. xx

go to the benefitsandwork.co.uk website. I looked and it really is useful. Also apparently they will get a REP to help you I think.

Unfortunately, the CAB are unable to attend Tribunals here and they have made errors with my details due to being inundated - I'm not able to afford Benefitsandwork fee. Will have to contact a few places for a Welfare Rights Person who specializes in Benefits (also try and find an Advocate). Thanks

Fibroaction is a group member so you don't have to pay for info from benefits and work, email lindsey middlemiss for any documents you want.
