I am also on 500 mg naproxen 2xday paracetamol 4xday and 75mg Venlofaxine once a day. The last 4 days I have slept almost constantly only waking up to eat or use the bathroom. When I am awake my head feels woozy and I just want to go back to sleep. I am diabetic my sugar is slightly high but not enough to cause these continuous feelings. Added to this since this onset I cry at everything.

The Gabapentin dose is very low and unlikely to be the cause. I suspect the Venlofaxine is the issue. You need to tell your GP and get their advice. Venlofaxine is usually prescribed for drug resistant depression. Duloxetine is more typically used for Fibromyalgia as it is licensed as a treatment for Fibro as well as for depression.

Thank you for your reply :-) . I have been on Venlofaxine for over two years now and never had these symptoms so I'm now wondering if I should be taking gabapentin with it. So much to figure out having mush for a brain just impedes progress sigh

Hya Ive been on. Venlafaxine for 25 years and Gabapentin for 15 years I’ve never had a problem and I wasn’t prescribed them for drug resistant depression I was given the venlafaxine to help with muscle pain and lift my mood which it certainly did and still does but I’ve never been offered Naproxin in all the years I’ve been under pain clinic because of the side affects but I’d definitely mention your sleeping to your doctor xxx

I take a higher cocktail than you and it has absolutely no effect on me and mine includes morphine. Talk to your GP about the side effects, your medication might need tweaking! The same dose of medication has different effects on different people. Your GP should work with you to find the dosage for your body and ailments. Xxx

I ha eno medical knowledge, I’m speaking from experience only.. The gGP suggested Gabapentin for chronic back pain . It didn’t really help the back pain, made me feel strange-other worldly, kept seeing things out of the corner of my eye that weren’t there . Every time I spoke to any one about Gabapentin they stressed that you can’t stop it suddenly , withdrawal can be awful . You need to reduce it slowly. Above all , you need to speak to your GP . Take care

The thing is that drugs can potentially affect people in different ways.I can’t tolerate Tramadol.

It makes me violently sick, so that’s off the list.its difficult sometimes to work out what’s causing what.

I hope you get Things sorted out.

I had a horrible time with gabapentin. I was so drowsy. I’m not that big of a person and my neurologist gave me 1900 mg. a day. I’m so tired as it is all the time. It was a massive amount and of no help.

Thank you for your reply. I have taken myself off it. The Dr has not come back to me yet and I figured seeing as I'd only been on it for just over 2 weeks I didn't expect to get withdrawal. Within a day I was feeling more alert and in control. My pain is back but at least I can get things small things done which I couldn't at all last week with sleeping and shaking all the time.Take care and have a lovely day
