Hello hayley95 and welcome to the forum. In the future you may wish to lock your posts to protect your and other members privacy, here is a link on how to, healthunlocked.com/fibromya...
Good luck with your new job. Maybe keep a diary and notepad with you and write anything important down. Pace yourself as much as possible. The more tired I am, the more forgetful I become.
I would say the same as MichelleButterfly has said - keep a notebook beside you at all times and write anything important down so you can refer back to it when you need to.
Are your employers aware you have fibromyalgia. If so, they have to, by law, make reasonable adjustments. I am not sure though if this applies if you're just starting a new job. Perhaps others here will know, or you could ask Citizens Advice, as they would know.
If you're sitting at a desk all day, get up and move around every so often if you can.
Good luck.
My worried about my fibromyalgia fog
Wow 24!!!! My heart goes out to you.
Having said that, you sound like you are fully aware of the pitfalls and how Your fibro affects You - it took me a long time to come to the realisation that, like most chronic or immune system conditions, it's presentation differs from person to person and is very much an individual experience - up to and including what works for you medication and therapy wise.
Previous suggestions given are excellent but I must ask; -
Are your new employers aware of your health conditions?
Do they have a good HR policy to cover supporting and managing staff with health issues?
Are Unions recognised and how quickly can you sign up?
Don't approach this new start from a negative point of view, as doing what you can, while you can is invaluable for your self esteem and mental health but do ensure you maintain a good Risk Assessment approach and ensure you have your Self Care on lock.
All the best going forward and CONGRATULATIONS on your new job.
