Help my doctor won't give me anything for my fybromyalga because I have been abroad, until I see a consultant but that's at least 12 weeks away. He gave me mirtazapine 3 weeks ago supposedly to help me sleep and for my IBS never heard of so much crap. I've was on everything going last year but had tried to do without as pain killers only get stronger. But now I'm back in this country I can't move out of bed.. I feel like I'm being fobbed off and don't know what to do, I was diagnosed 11 years ago but it's only thr last 3 years it's got unbearable.. Please need advice asap

Hi, I have Pregabalin and Co-codamol. I find warm bath or shower can help sometimes. I hope that helps 🤔 I hope you can get the help you need. Stay safe and good luck.

I understand you feel totally fobbed off, I differently would ring your surgery even to see another doc if necessary. ,12 weeks is a long time and if Covid cases are on the rise after the 4/5 days families can meet over Xmas period it might be even worse to see a doctor, I would pick up the phone, so I’m wishing you luck with this, take care x

Hi and a warm welcome to our community. Here you will find information support friendship and laughter too. You can find general information on fibromyalgia at our main website fmauk.org

Perhaps you could ask your gp if there is anything they can do to help you with pain until you get your appointment ... There may be a reason why your gp is unwilling to prescribe other medication than the mirtazapine. (Btw I have been prescribed an anti depressant in the past to help with stomach issues - so quite possibly the mirtazapine being used in same way)
